Petition to grant Mordekiaser Q range again (Rioter comments appreciated)

As we all know, Mord has a base movespeed of 325. Even with Rylias and boots, it still takes a good amount of time for Mord to reach his target.

Now Mord's mace is a LARGE, LONG mace, so a slight amount of range given makes sense. With how slow Mord is, and the amount of mobile champions in the game, it would make landing all 3 q's a wee bit less fustrating to land on enemies like quinn or leblac, who dash in and out, with Mordekiaser almost completely unable to land q without any range. W's strategic range is easy to dodge, and e's damage has too much health cost to up early.

Maybe not grant the same range as before, but some would benefit Mord. At the moment, you literally have to be NEXT to the enemy in order to hit it. Not asking for damage buffs, or even base Stat buffs(although that would also be useful), just a little range on Q.

Who else thinks bringing back a small amount of the range Q used to have would be acceptable? I mean, Mord has no escapes, low base health, and is incredibly slow moving.

Believe it or not, the range of Morde's mace isn't actually as grand as you might think. I'd also like to lump Poppy into here as well, since her Hammer is VERY long relative to her body, and her AA range is only 125 despite that. Swinging from the other end of the mace or Hammer might seem like a good idea to get extra range out of your attack. However, you have to consider how heavy the business end of your weapon is. The heavier it is, the more effort you have to put in to ensure your attack has the same impact as it would if you were swinging from the middle of your weapon.

There's more leverage, and thus, more easily accessible force when you swing from the middle of the weapon, and there doesn't need to be as much effort put in. This COULD explain why Poppy and Morde have such short ranges while having such long weapons relative to their bodies, but if it doesn't, then you'll have to ask a Rioter about it who was involved with the champion's concept design

While your point is quite valid, Mord's Q seems to have the exact same range as his AA, when before it had at least some sort of additional range. Agsin, maybe not give the old range it had post-rework, but part of it. It seems you have to be RIGHT next to them to hit them. Like hitting them with the handle of the mace.

Although to be fair, range on Poppy does sound like a good idea too, given the same circumstance, BUT Mord IS awfully slow with low base health---being naturally squishy and slow makes it difficult to stick to targets and escape pinch situations. At least Poppy has massive amounts of cc and is an acual tank. Mord is a synthetic tank due to his shield, and his low base health forces you to build some sort of health.

Liking this discussion do far. :) You put out great points

Again, not the range it used to have, just some range would be nice.

I've even tried to animation cancel against champs like Quinn and LeBlanc who dash in, damage, and fly away, and even tho the animation DOES proc when they come in for the quick dive, Mord has such slow attack speed, they are already gone by the time the animation canceled hit would hit them. The range would allow Mord to at least hit them with just ONE Q.
