@Riot: Will new runes replace summoner spells?

Since we are getting new runes. Any thoughts of getting new summoner spells? I know I have asked this before, I just wanted to bring it up to the fore front again, so more people have a chance to see it.

I think league of legends at its core, is a strategy game. I would love to see more thought go into the game during champ select and rune/masteries. With that being said, there are some niche summoner spell that were removed for various reasons, that I thought added a lot of interesting mechanics to the game.

  • Revive
  • Clarity
  • promote
  • Clairvoyance

While a lot of these have been replaced with items that have similar affects, I always thought summoner spells were used as game defying plays that changed the outcome of a fight. ( rather than who uses flash better ).. So with that being said, while I understand that certain runes will cover this aspect better, will the new rune system outclass summoner spells? or will there be a chance to get a few more summoner spells as well?

FinalNote : I think the new rune pixie or whatever it is , (the one that makes that cute animal dash to your enemy or allies) works better as a summoner spell than a rune, but that's just my opinion

Not replace, no. They are replacing Masteries and the current Runes. Summoner Spells will still be in the game with all their Flash-iness and glory.

lol I understand your making a joke XD but I have to add my 2cents for the others that may mis-interpt it. I don't think they will be 100% removed, but like you said, they will definitely overshadow a lot of summoner spells.

I think I am the only one that misses clairvoyance

Strategy game . . . hasn't felt like it for years since riot keeps trying to speed it up. As if they're embarrassed about people playing it for fun. At this rate, it'll take longer to queue up than it will be to play-through.

With the new berserk keystone. (the one that gives +60 attack speed + increases cap) would you guys think no one would run heal down bot anymore, instead just go for a kill lane with ignite + exhaust ?.
