My thoughts on the auto filling system.
To start with I think that the current auto filling system isn't game changing. You get auto filled like once every 10-15 games. So even if you have a 0% win rate on top lane and 0% win rate on adc you can still climb to diamond+, you'll simply be losing 1 game every 10-15 games. So yes knowing this, the auto filling system doesn't really affect your solo queue rank. The only downside to it is that sometime it give a really poor game to you and your teammate making there play time less enjoyable.
If we look at this system epitome by seeing how it affect the top tier solo queue player, these challenger out there. Let's look at the current number 1 player in NA solo queue ''Consensual Clown''. This player Primary and secondary role are ADC and Support;
He have a 68% win rate on Caitlyn with 116 games played on her ( 79 wins / 37 losses ); He have a 57% win rate on Zyra with 107 games played on her ( 61 wins / 46 losses ); He have a 63% win rate on Sona with 83 games played on her ( 52 wins / 31 losses );
Those 3 champs are is most played champion and by quite a lot of games, now let's look at is less picked champ;
He have a 46% win rate on Janna with 26 games ( 12 wins / 14 losses ); He have a 67% win rate on Tristana with 24 games ( 16 wins / 8 losses ); He have a 63% win rate on Jhin with 19 games ( 12 wins / 7 losses ); He have a 37% win rate on Fiora with 19 games ( 7 wins / 12 losses ); He have a 69% win rate on Ezreal with 13 games ( 9 wins / 4 losses ); He have a 58% win rate on Braum with 12 games ( 7 wins / 5 losses ); He have a 30% win rate on Karma with 10 gmaes ( 3 wins / 7 losees ); He have a 63% win rate on Vladimir with 8 games ( 5 wins / 3 losses ); He have a 63% win rate on Elise with 8 games ( 5 wins / 3 losses ); He have a 38% win rate on Nasus with 8 games ( 3 wins / 5 losses ); He have a 67% win rate on Twitch with 6 games ( 4 wins / 2 losses ); He have a 80% win rate on Lulu with 5 games ( 4 wins / 1 loss ); He have a 60% win rate on Mordekaiser with 5 games ( 3 wins / 2 losses ); He have a 60% win rate on Tahm Kench with 5 games ( 3 wins / 2 losses ); He have a 40% win rate on Warwick with 5 games ( 2 wins / 3 losses ); He have a 40% win rate on Illaoi with 5 games ( 2 wins / 3 losses ); He have a 20% win rate on Teemo with 5 games ( 1 win / 4 losses );
I won't be going further because every other champ have less than 5 games played on them.
Now let's make the math.
Support : 139 wins and 104 losses = 57.2% win rate ADC : 120 wins and 58 losses = 67.41% win rate MID and TOP : 21 wins and 29 losses = 42% win rate Jungle : 7 wins and 6 losses = 53.85 win rate
If we look at the role that he get auto filled more often top lane, he have from 15.2% to 25.41% less chance of winning the game.
So looking at the current best solo queue player in NA, we can tell that even in higher bracket elo player have there weakness, making the team that end up having less auto filled player more likely to win. Being the number 1 in a solo queue ladder that have an auto filled system to some extend do help the top tier player to be able to win some of the time on auto filled role. But you gotta expect to have even less effective auto filled player in lower elo bracket.
I'll be looking at lower ranked challenger player and put some win rate chart on them also.
The following will be my definitive point of view about the auto filling system as of yet. Do riot really believe that it is good to force player in playing every role? I think they don't believe in that even if they made that auto filling system!!!! The reason why it is because you only get auto filled about 15% of the games you are playing making it a bit longer to climb overall. But not being able to perform averagely on your worse role won't stop your climbing.
So at this point I have 2 suggestions to Riot.
The first one is to not auto fill player with top, mid, adc or jungle. Only leaving support as the possible auto filled role. The second one make auto fill happen more often if you clearly believe that playing every role on the same effectiveness should determine the skill lvl of a player, if you make it so you get auto filled once in 5 game, player will need to be able to perform well in every role to climb and only player that can perform well in every single role will be in the top tier solo queue bracket.
Personally, since myself I can only play 3 role, I much rather have them removing the possibility to get auto filled top, mid, adc and jungle. But the 2 option I stated above are possible solution!
