What if Elise's Q completely f*cked with her target?

Scrimshäw··92 votes·5,068 views

So, hear me out:

Elise's Q is called Neurotoxin, so it should mess with your brain right? right. What if we sacrificed some damage, and made it so when someone gets hit by Neurotoxin, they get their vision reduced to like... 700 range for 2.5-3 seconds, THEN ---- while they're under the effects of Q, a hallucination of Elise rappels down in front of them, and starts attacking them like a bot would, but it does no damage, it just makes them think they're in immediate danger.

Thoughts?

Amazing. But people would figure out that it was not Elise after a few games.

Doubtful.

People still chase down Shaco clones and stop for Wukong decoys, even if they have jungle buffs.

I would ban Elise every fucking game. I love playing her, but that sounds nightmarish... :c

Still really interesting though.

um that's because a skilled wu just presses S and not W so you have to make sure lol

If you've right-clicked onto the Wukong, the moment he clones your character changes stances. Noticeable if you're used to looking for it against Wukong.

True but that's still a split second you have to see that

Scrimshäw8 votes

But then there's the risk of Elise actually rappelling down, so it's kind of always a mind game, and split second decisions are really hard to think about unless you're super pr0 gosu.

Tentacle Love8 votes

You could make it more simple.

While under the effects of neurotoxin, for ~1.5 seconds, you don't see your hit points drop at all, and when neurotoxin wears off, you see your hp drop as though one ability did all that damage.

Smart players would pay more attention to which ability it was that was preventing them from seeing their hp drop, and would back off after that extremely dangerous skill. It would mean avoiding that neurotoxin is more important because it screws up the information you normally get.

You'd want it to have a very distinct visual cue though. Perhaps a purplish multicolored aura around you to signify that you're under the influence of dangerous toxins.

Even high level players would have a rough time gauging how many hp they actually have when they get hit by that. It would add a new level of counterplay to fighting against her, because you'd have to start remembering how hard each player is hitting. her late game utility in teamfights would be incredible because she'd be extremely effective at either: a) poking out a target and making it retreat, or b) making a target overconfident and getting them killed.

Voice chat and communication between players would be capable of defeating the effectiveness of it, so its duration can't be too long.

What if instead of a new neurotoxin her e could reset on kills or assists? I feel like this would really help the survivability of assassin Elise without making her anywhere near overpowered. Her e has a long cooldown right now and it would make Elise a little more mobile mid-teamfight, allowing her to descend from her web onto weak targets for the kill but only if you are in rappels area. It wont give her anymore damage but nearly all assasins have an easier time escaping after a kill then elise and this would help a little. Zed gets to telepot to his shadow. Akali has invisibility and dashes to enemies that reset on kill or assist. Katarina has a resetting teleport that can target allies Shaco Shaco is one of the slipperiest S.O.Bs out there even without a reset Nidalee Has a reset on her jump if she uses her combo right Rengar only gets a movespeed boost after his ultimate wears off but can do much more damage than elise and has free defensive stats from his w LeeSin gets ward jumps or jumps to allies Khazix gets a reset on his jump on kill or assist if he evolves into it Talon can use his ultimate for escape but it is usually a core part of his burst so he a little left out here too Evelynn Gets a large movespeed boost that refreshes on kill or assist Leblanc Basically has infinite dashes with any CDR at all Yasuo Also gets a little left out with escapes but he is one of the minority Kassadin 2 second cooldown teleports after level 16

Also i really just like the idea of the spider lurking in her web just waiting to prey on anyone who gets too low in her area of control.

What if it had a new form of CC that made them not walk in a strait line? It wont reduce movement speed or their ability to aim. Just when they click to move a direction, they'll randomly walk a little left or right.

Scrimshäw2 votes

that's an awesome idea... it could be like.. dizziness. gragas barrel plz

Hyrum Graff4 votes

I like the idea of messing with them. I don't like this particular form of vision denial, because there are already other champs with vision denial (noc, graves), and there are other champs who I feel it would be more appropriate to add it on.

What* if*,* instead,* it* made* your* screen* go* all wavy*? Like* your* vision* is* flickering*.* That* would be* unique*,* and make* it* much* harder* to* hit skillshots*,* etc.*

Helmight3 votes

I think it's a really cool ability, but definitely an ultimate-level one. In order to fully appreciate the vision reduction/clone, you'd have to make the duration relatively long - which would certainly mean the ability couldn't be on a low cooldown. Good idea for a future champion, but not Elise.

Scrimshäw2 votes

that's actually a good point, maybe give it a greatly reduced cooldown when used on monsters?

Saianna3 votes

There's like no damage to sacrifice anyways...

Tis a nice day2 votes

A better way to make them think they're in immediate danger is to make their health bar (fake) drop much more than the spell actually damages them for.

Would be kinda weird to see yourself at negative health though.

Hyrum Graff2 votes

I really like this idea, but at the same time, I wonder whether it would hurt the game's clarity.

Thank god there is another one of us. I joined the league right at the start of season 4 and my first ever champion I picked up and I mained her all the way to the end of season 4, right around when the new jungle was added in pre season 5. Rito completely destroyed her with this new jungle and her only viable option right now is her top lane mage, and that is only against certain picks. Again, thaqnk god theres another one out there, love ya dude

Fisk1 votes

:D my brother! I'm waiting for her to get reworked, I want to play her again :(

ModBoggyBuntu1 votes

New players would be totally confused, that's why it'll never appear. Riot won't allow abilities that require you to have knowledge of what it does beforehand. Just look at almost all abilities of all the champs, they all have visual effects and are clear on what they do by seeing it. On contrast to your idea, you don't know what it does and why it happens until you READ or play Elise. So, while it's a neat idea, it would never be implemented.

Scrimshäw10 votes

Yasuo's passive is kind of burden of knowledge, and Shaco clone definitely is.. for "brand" new players. As is why Darius' ult killed you at 700 health once, but then it could only kill you at 200 health, I think every champion has some things about them that new players have to learn. See: Bard

PickleBabah6 votes

This entire game is based off of previous knowledge. This argument is sort of invalidated, proven if you have ever started off playing League, gotten insta-gibbed by a 6300 iP / 975 rP champion (or even 4800 iP) and immediately read up on it afteward.

Examples: "How can Kha'Zix jump so much?" - This cannot be shown very visually seeing how it is sensitive to the other player who is playing Kha'Zix. It would require previous knowledge of knowing the actual cooldown and how the skill resets. "I couldn't even see Teemo's shroom!" - Stealth is something that cannot be visually shown for anyone but the stealth-er and his team mates, as it would be self-contradictory. "You can click on Thresh's lantern?" - This cannot be shown very visually without trying it out first.

Obviously, all of these functions still work perfectly fine as players new and experience will grow to get used to it. There is no reason for dumbing things up.

That would ruin it It should make the enemy's screen all shaky and colorful (dunno if neurotoxins actually do that but anyway), kinda like in in the last scene of Hotline Miami 2 for those who played the game

How about: For 2.5 seconds champions under the effect of neurotoxin move the opposite direction as ordered by their summoner.

Thoughts?

usul12021 votes

Too easily beatable, and how would that work with attack-moves?

Lordofthepittt1 votes

That actually sounds like a good idea. But for one, I don't think any damage should be sacrificed. I don't find Elise to be very strong at the moment, and I feel like removing any more of her damage would make her less relevant to the game.

Two, Riot isn't going to do anything cool like this.

Yandere Carry1 votes

I like just the vision reduction straight up. (and tank stats on spider form pls ;-;)

Demented Lemur1 votes

this sounds a little powerful for a not ult ability

besim1 votes

I haven't seen any comments talking about how this could help her jungling. Yeah, her clear is pretty fast, even early, but definitely gotten worse in the new jungle. If her q created some sort of clone, it could distract the jungle camps for a few seconds, and help her early clear dramatically

Igotlazy1 votes

Her Neurotoxin should make every unit look like Zed. That way, they will know true fear.

BlackMagicWilson1 votes

"true fear."... What if there was a cc called True Fear which deepened the already potent effects of regular fear. For example temporarily see things that aren't there, visual hallucinations if you will. A champion attacking that isn't there or an enemy labeled as friend. "I didn't even know you were in the game Lee- wait a minute..."
