Xerath could use some love
I love Xerath. His lore, lying and waiting for the perfect moment to take the throne for himself, ascending and obtaining powers of the gods. His VO, thematic is awesome, but his kit feels a bit lackluster for essentially an immortal. I feel that Xerath has so much potential to be more than he is. As of now, Xerath's kit feels like a line, circle, dot, and more circles. Lame.
Passive - Mana Surge Now it might not be very thematic, but it gives Xerath the ability to almost endlessly harass and cast his spells. Don't know if it really needs a change though.
Q - Arcanopulse I love this ability so much. The base damage, scalings, and range make it so satisfying to cast. Allowing Xerath to poke his enemies from afar and instantly clear waves. This ability feels perfect for him, and should NOT be changed.
W - Eye of Destruction Ok. A literal circle. This ability rewards Xerath well for landing it, but it feels so lackluster. All it is, is a small AoE damaging circle. Would an immortal want a magical ability like that? I bet not, and it feels pathetic for someone like Xerath. This ability needs a change. It is too basic.
E - Shocking Orb This is Xerath's stun, with a pathetic 40% AP ratio, and fairly low base stats. The stun is very short mid-short range as well. I also do feel like this ability is lane, as you are just throwing an orb to stun somebody. Even the name is lame. Xerath should have a stun/CC, but this ability is just too plane.
R - Rite of the Arcane I do like this ability. Xerath roots himself to empower himself allowing him to cast artillery like magic with great range. The idea of this ability is awesome, and it is very rewarding when landing all three shots. However, I feel like it could give a passive. Perhaps Xerath could gain a tremendous powerspike, and make him a force to be reckoned with to fulfill his immortal powers. This ability doesn't really need a change, but something could be added to spice it up.
In the end, Xerath feels like an extremely basic champion. Xerath is basically is a god. Look at Syndra's kit and lore. She obtained extremely powerful magic and decided to use it for her own biddings. Her landing her spells and controlling her orbs highly rewards her for doing so. Xerath's kit feels extremely lackluster for his lore. That being said, I believe Xerath should be included in the immobile mages update.
