I'm interested to know why you thought you were buffing Viktor too much, as currently he's one of the weakest and lowest winning champions in their main role. (mid)

His repeated nerfs when Rylai's was stronger, and his lack of buffs once Rylai's was not an optimal choice anymore has left him much worse off.

He's one of the only champs in the game where if you can just camp him mid or keep him behind and prevent him from unlocking his waveclear DLC he becomes dead weight.

I do agree the Q shield buff is a step in the right direction. I think he currently performs better as a tanky mage and more shield is welcome, but he still leaves a lot to be desired. Where exactly is his niche?

His Ultimate ticks need to be faster, every 2 seconds is way too inconsistent and feel awful. It's not like it's that easy to keep it on the enemy anymore like It used to be. That's his real problem, he's inconsistent as hell. His E aftershock is inconsistent, his R is inconsistent, and Rylai's isn't a good option anymore.

I thought lowering his E cooldown 1 second and/or even shaving off 10 mana was fair, as 110 mana at max rank for his E seems a bit excessive. It's incredibly hard to trade with his E early on and with the new minion agro changes it's hard to trade with his Q also, it just feels like wasted mana using his E to harass early game.

Overall I'm disappointed that a lot of this is being shelved. I just read another comment from a rioter about the Nunu buffs and eventual changes after, that they'd rather "overshoot" the mark then bring them back down rather than not give enough.

I know winrate isn't everything but he's sitting at 46% as of right now and gets destroyed by a lot of meta mids (Xerath, Azir)

It's taken this long just for him to get looked at, I don't want these Q changes to go through, increase his winrate by a miniscule amount, then have to wait another few months for another pass around.

The E change was puzzling from the get-go. Riot has said that they think Viktor has too much waveclear. Reducing E cooldown gives him even more.

The Q and ult changes make much more sense to me. As a very avid Viktor player who hasn't found a ton of success with him this season, I'm excited to try them out.

I'm fine with Riot approaching him conservatively, given how dominant he can be when his numbers get overtuned. Literally doubling his shield seems like a pretty big buff to me. And it'll certainly be nice to get some burst back on his R.

  1. The minion change on his Q dosent really hurt that much.

  2. The problem is what you mentioned, the over nerfs and lack of compensation after Rylais got nerfed as well. He dosent need more damage, he needs a way to get his damage off. They can buff his ult damage all they want but it means nothing when anyone can simply walk out during the 2 second downtime between ticks it has. Unless they make the initial drop damage insanly high his ult is not good for anything other than stopping a Kat ult.

  3. Same with his E. Dont buff the damage, just make it so that the delay is shorter after the first cast. Upgrading it kinda sucks that they can avoid the second part of the E super easy.

They need to revert either rylais or the changes to his R and E if they will leave Rylais sucking like it does now

TBH

  1. i think changing Ritem 3116 to 25% slow for 1.5s would be a good change. OR
  2. making his ult do 25% less dmg but tick every 1.5 seconds. ALSO
  3. once enemies are either snared or pulled into center of his W, make them talk 10% more dmg (mini DFG).
