Nasus in new Jungle

With the changes to the Jungle Camps Nasus now have a chance to stack 23 creep per jungle clear (+/- off the top of my head). Will Nasus jungle be a thing again?

Just got out of a Nasus top game vs Teemo (FML). Went pretty even but bot and mid got ate up. Stacked to about 350ish by 30 lose. Before the game ended I had 3 1v1 kills on Teemo and it was in good part due to stacking the rocks by top lane that break into 2 pieces over and over.

Haven't tried it, but was playing it anyway. Nasus in the jungle makes sense. His objective control is incredible when stacked, and the jungle is a safe place for him.

Sion. Sion in the new jungle gets 104 bonus HP per clear, assuming both scuttle crabs. It's incredible.

To realistically stack every jungle monster you either need a boat load of starting CDR (you can start with 25% if you're man enough) or a whole lot of defense. With high CDR you will get really low really fast and be super vulnerable to invades, where as high defense will just slow down your clear to the point where you fall behind.

Do yourself a favor, if you play Jungle Nasus do NOT try to stack every monster possible. Just do the clear and stack what you can.

well just played a game as Nasus jungle. It kinda works. The stacking isn't bad. The problem is the ganks and getting countered jungled. Nasus has a slow clear if you are waiting to stack and the ganks are sort of weak unless your team lets them push. Top is still Nasus home. It was fun tho and seeing a teemo pick doesn't make you wanna dodge.

Here are a few tips on how to do it, jungle Nasus is definitely weaker than lane but it can be done:

  1. Make sure you get EVERY big monster there is on the Q. You may have to miss the small monsters for this sometimes but there is a way to not, which I will explain later.

  2. Start blue, every bit of CDR helps (and the mana regen).

  3. Go the Cunning tree setup, since it not only gives 5% CDR, and you'll also want all the jungling boosts you can get, which are available in the Cunning tree. Warlords and Undying setups are for lane only.

  4. When farming, autoattack the big monster while your Q is on CD, and when its up, Q the small monsters for stacks. 1 E should get them all into kill range for your Q. Try not to use more than 1 E per camp (for both mana and Q stacking reasons).

  5. The jungle items all suck for him (including Cinderhulk). I typically don't upgrade.

It seems like I'm the only one the thread who has actually tried Nasus jungle so here we go...

I afk farmed Nasus about 25 times just because it's more fun than actually playing the game with you people.

A full clear gives you 84 stacks. With max movement speed items you can get 1000 stacks in 40 minutes. Most games will be on pace for 1000 stacks in 60 minutes.

Give yourself 10% starting CDR, then rush another 10% CDR item. 20% CDR in the jungle is all you'll need for the first 30 minutes.

Don't fully complete your jungle item. None of them are good enough for Nasus. Eventually you'll want to sell it for 700g.

Don't gank until you reach 999 stacks.

Also, start wolves, then blue, then gromp. Back. Then red, then birds, then prepare to fight to the death with the rocks. Still working on trying to avoid that.

In all seriousness though, nasus jungle is far superior to lane Nasus. The early stacks you get make you an early game powerhouse. 200 stacks by 13-15 minutes is easy

I use to sometimes take Nasus in the Jungle in season 5 and it was OK. I was a Nasus top main and in silver Elo it was fine. But I couldn't really do it in gold.

I did it only in Season 6 in normals and only played him top in ranked, but I may bring it back this preseason.

I would have to think about how to build him though, and whether to max E or Q. He doesn't really benefit from any jungle items, he needs E to clear camps but if you don't put points into Q it is harder to stack unless you intentionally slow your Q.

Probably scaling CDR runes are best then you don't have to itemize for as much CDR early.

I am probably going to try it today.
