About the RNG. Let's have a talk and share some Ideas
So, i see many people in the boards lately talking about how bad crits are and how big of a role randomness plays in League. People say that crit should be removed from the game because it wins trades in an unfair manner. Firstly, you should know that Crit is not completely random, Riot have also stated so. But let's see what crit actualy does and why it is essential. In this game, we have tanks, Casters and AA dependant champions. Tanks soak up damage, Casters do a lot of damage in short amounts of time, killing targets in a few seconds and AA dependant champions do their damage primarily with attack. Now, casters do damage with Abilities and most of the times, those abilities burst down hard and they do much more damage than a basic attack of an AA dependant champion. So, without crit, with the same amount of damage, respectively, an AD caster will do a lot more damage. An AP caster will also do much more damage than the AA champions. So, how are you supposed to win against such champions? That's where crit comes in. Critical damage is what gives AA dependant champions a fighting chance. But for some reason people want it to be removed. Personaly i play AD assasins mid, Zed in particular and i don't build crit at all. I know that one full rotation of spells late game is enough to kill almost any ADC and with so much damage, even if they survivethe first rotation, i will kill them soon because of the 40% cdr. Critical damage and clever moves is what helps gives them the chance to kill me or any other champion.
People don't like the randomness of crit. So, my idea is this. Smoothen out critical damage among the attacks depending on your crit chance. Rename Crit chance to Critical factor, keep crit damage modifiers as they are, 2 for normal crits and 2.5 for IE empowered crits and have the system work like that. If you have 50 critical chance, you essentialy hit 5 crits in a total of 10 attacks. Make the damage of each AA be the average of the 5 critical hits and the 5 normal attacks. So, if you have 50 crit factor and 100 AD, you should do {((1002)5)+(1005)}/10 damage. this is 1500/10=150 damage per AA instead of 100. If you have more crit factor, let's say 70 and 2.5 crit damage mod, you will do (71002.5)+(1003)=205 damage per AA. If you now have 100 critical factor you wil essentialy have 100% crit chance and hit with full crit damage every time. So, this way, the damage output will be smoothened out and will be constant. You will instantly get benefits when you buy crit factor and the RNG people hate so much will be eliminated. Also, the cases where you are unlucky and don't crit at all in a fight and lose the trade will never happen again. You will always be aware of your damage and Luck will not play a role.
What do you think? Personaly, i don't care if things change or not. I play assassins and crits are none of my concern. So, what do you think?
