So, what is this sudden popularity veigar got? And also, why does everybody cry so much about him? Veigar was always like this and before the rework was even stronger with his instant stun and his 120% scale on his Dark matter... The trick was always the same. Pick aggressive AD against him, zone him out of farm and get ahead before he can be powerful. It worked back then, it still works now. If you think his ult is too strong and you don't like AD assassins, pick long range mages, and rush a zhonya's for his ult or just pick fizz. What is it that you fear so much? And why did everyone start to complain now about him when he was always like that? I really can't understand your reasoning...

Rushing Zhonyas against Veigar has got to be the WORST argument I've seen in a long time.

Not does Seeker give you more AP (hurr durr Primordial burst) as you farm, but it grants armor and you net less AP when you upgrade into Zhonyas (120 for NLR + Seekers, 100 AP for Zhonyas)

Now you've gimped your mana regen, still have no MR, still susceptible to being stunned and bursted before you can Zhonyas and let's not forget that even if you DID Zhonya's his ult, you're probably in an infavorable position and will get rekt by his teammates or locked into his cage.

Well, i have seen it happen. I play AD assassins mid and don't really know what you have to build as AP anyway. but still... He got popular suddenly

The cage still requires you as the opponent to misplay in order to get stunned by it, so that's on you. Being zoned doesn't help him land shit so you should be able to zhonya's if you're not being double teamed.

he stuns then uses his q i think. That thing that makes stuff fall from the sky. At lvl 16 it is enough to one shot a whole team

veig got some pretty fat buffs

w is now 1.25 delay, so it's a guaranteed hit even with rank 1 e stun, whereas before you needed a rank 3 e stun he now gets ap stacks on champion assists, something absolutely massive for his reliability. it makes his power curve super consistent, and almost guarantees that he'll scale strongly even if he's down cs in lane.

His Q has 950 range now. Basically this means that it's impossible to force a Veigar out of lane or deny him stacks if he's not stupid. He's a lategame champion with a strong and safe earlygame.
