Unpopular Opinions

I will start off by saying I am an exclusive solo player. My real life friends don't play league and the only time i tried to play as a group was for hextech stuff and party weekend, which I have also stopped doing.

I infact don't mind dynamic queue. I thought it was always strange when I started playing in season 3 that you could group with only 1 friend. I would definately want to play as a group of more than 2 if my real life friends were into league. Yes I have had the occasional paring vs 4 mans or part of 4 mans which sucks. But they are rare. My thoughts on rito's dynamic queue not so round table discussion are as follows.

  1. They are addressing issues with dynamic queue to make it better, namely reducing queue times, trying to balance with MMR vs premade etc. They are not just abandoning us, but trying to improve our experience slowly.

  2. They are trying to fix the all important phil = support issue. I am like some other players where I like the randomness of picking fill. I don't care where I go and its always a random surprise which lane I am going which I enjoy. Picking support or fill as secondary and always ending up support is very frustrating and its good to see it on their radar.

  3. It is fun being able to play with more than 1 friend, the duo queue restriction was stupid. No system is perfect, you will never be 100% not matched vs 4/5 mans. So if it happens once in a while and as per rito number it does rarely, then suck it up. >1/1000 chances at lower elo is not going to misrepresent your LCS Big play abilities. However rito is also misleading us. You know what else sucks though, being a solo player vs a 2 -3 man team as well. Rito presented no information on these mismatches. How often does that happen? Where a group of solos are playing a against 2-3 man teams. If the chances are low, I have no issues with that, but would definitely like some clarification on that.

  4. Why do you keep discriminating against the majority of you player base? I understand when you are trying to balance champs/items etc you base it on the highest caliber of play, the top 1-2% in diamond etc. But if your policy is you are not bringing back solo queue, then apply it to everyone, don't give the top 1% special treatment. If you keep insisting that dynamic queue is ok in a competitive scene, then like your item/champion balance changes, it should be ok at the highest level of competition. If it is not, then don't that shit to noobs like me.

  5. A while ago, there was a thread by a marketing guy explaining how rito is never going to bring back solo queue. Explaining how its was marketing strategy saying we will do it later. And, no, apology or admitting saying you were wrong, "the world is different and we can't do what we think we could" is not a defense, you are not justified. It's like shooting someone and saying sorry, I feel horrible and I screwed up, that dude is still dead. You need to have better communication with your players. A better answer instead of a sorry would be to make sure this short of miscommunication (cough lying marketing strategy) doesn't happen again. You literally make billions of dollars from this game, you can afford a better PR department.

  6. "we alienated a portion of League’s passionate player-base who believe a ranked competitive experience should be limited to a solo (or duo) endeavor." Yes you did, but you have been doing this for a long time. I cannot remember the last time you did something for solo players. Dynamic queue, PARTY IP weekend (emphasis on party), Hextech that benefits group players most (leaving out solos again), even the ranked rewards that were based on solo play are now easier to obtain with group. Instead of saying you alienated players, do something to not alienate them. Give solo players some benefit for playing by themselves, banner, icon, bonus IP, you have so much stuff you could do. But no, every time there is a reward, you give a big middle finger to solo player's like me.

  7. I am sure many players on the board feel as strongly as i do about this game. This is all I have played for the past 3 years. But remember this is after all Tencent's game and they do whatever the hell they want with it. So eventually we just have to suck it up and play the game or stop playing. They have already made a tonne of money of this and even if rito finally shutdown a lot of people had jobs, money, career and most importantly fun playing this game thanks to rito. We appreciate all you are trying to do for us rito, free stuff through hextech, esports scene, community creations etc. I just urge you to stop ignoring your solo players and actually do something for them. And no not bring back solo queue but other forms of rewards.

Rant over.
