TL:DR - Annie stuns needs a timer after which it wears off. Give you some counter play.

I am a lowly silver scrub and I might have no game sense but Riot keeps mentioning they are all about windows of opportunity. Something that I find difficult to manage at my elo in lane is the zoning potential of annie. Riot did an awesome thing by adding the stun counter, however she can hold the stun indefinitely. Yes I understand she cant spam abilities to cs, but she can cs with her autos and zone ridiculously especially in mid lane, where her targets are usually squishy. I have tried long range mages with some minor success, but here flash ult combo is way too op. I know it uses flash which kinda makes it ok but my point is more about her ability to hold her stun indefinitely. When we compare to for example ryze cakes, his rune stacks fall of if he doesnt use them, same thing with vayne %hp true dmg bs stacks, poppy/camille shield passive wears off automatically (does not necessarily require to be popped). Champs that have ever active passive have opportunities to do something against them. U can auto garen or malphite or malzahar to disable their crap. However, none of these have the same zoning potential as annie stun, she can burst most usual squishy midlaners with her ult combo. I think she needs a timer, after four stacks something like her next ability cast in next 10 secs or something stuns.

Thoughts???

Ok sure but why1/16/2017, 12:53:44 AM5 votes

it's not the fact that she can stun people too frequently

it's the fact that she can instakill nearly anyone during that one stun

If you're playing a long range mage and can't outpush Annie, thus forcing her to stop holding onto her stun, the fault really is all yours.

Alternatively, let the wave crush into your tower, call for a gank and last hit there. We're talking about a low range immobile mage : if your jungler can't get her while she's on your half of the lane (which she has to be, otherwise she's in no way pressuring/zoning you), that's really a player issue.

If all else fails, Barrier does a good job of negating a lot of her flash combo in lane, as well as an early negatron cloak. Annie has plenty counterplay, it just seems that most people are scared of exploiting it.

Riot has already commented on the topic of her stacks during her MYMU update. Please read that before you QQ about her. Thanks. (pst, it's not happening, they like her the way she is!)

I use to play annie you shud be able to have a fair lane as Lux or Zed. If you shadow E her that slows her then you get an easy Q. Do that a few times and shes gotta go back and you can start hexdrinker, that shit is sooooo op.

OP your thread is walking a dangerous line here. Even if you thread has the best discussion points in the world there are those who don't give a fuck and will downvote it because of the title. It happens a lot.

But yeah, Riot for some reason haven't cracked down on high-uptime zoning abilities yet. They started doing so at one point, but didn't actually finish it. Gotta say there's still a few examples of this that should be worked on.

Annie is definitely the worst offender of this, but be careful. This has been brought up numerous times but these players think they're playing the only immobile champion in the game. They use this to say it's okay if she happens to have great success in high elo with a binary champion, and also have some of the strongest earlygame zoning with very little ways to work around it.
