How much do your stats matter in ranked games?

I've always been a data driven guy. So I like to keep track of my performance. I'm just wondering what the usefulness of a stats page is on sites like League of Graphs and op.gg.

For example, according to league of graphs I have better stats than average Morganas in all divisions from Iron to challenger. Of course you take this with a grain of salt because I'm playing against easier opponents. So there is some inflation.

My new account is gold 2 currently. If I'm performing way above the average gold Morgana in stats I should be climbing right? (This hasn't been the case lately which is why I'm asking this.)

How do I use this information to improve my play?

I've also tried Mobalytics, but almost all my skills are "mastered" under mobalytics I guess because I had to climb from bronze on this account. The few things that aren't are vision related. It's very hard to find actual useful data that isn't inflated.

Watch your replays and compare them to professional players and high elo one tricks. Many data sites don't actually help you to climb they just show your progress.

Also remember that you're playing support in Gold :P

Yea I mean there aren't any streamers who play Morgana like ever lol. Plus, the high elo games look nothing like gold games in lane. It would be more helpful for me to find a video of someone smurfing as Morgana. I just don't know how to find that kind of stuff.

Fair enough, I personally don't know any high elo Morgana mains myself. The best support player I can think of is duoking1 who played Sona only from Bronze to Challenger. Not helpful for Morgana mechanics but it would really help your macro play.

Stats don't matter for me. GRADES given after the game matters.

If you keep getting S+ in your divisions, perhaps it means that you are outperforming too often. You'll eventually jump divisions

If you're the kind of guy that wants to keep a 0 death while letting your allies die because you might die too, this is absolutely ridiculous.

I could play Janna and shield the over fed Riven in my team and get maybe 1-0-26 as final score but maybe get A- grade

Or I could be the Karma that does dmg, shield, and wards and is willing to kill herself to save her allies and maybe end up with 3-6-24. You'll maybe get a S- for that

It's hard to say because I don't back up teammates who do stupid shit. And gold players do a lot of stupid shit. Like I'm not going to flash ult commit to a fight that I know is going to be a loss. I ping like crazy and people may or may not listen.

I'd like to think as a plat player with thousands upon thousands of games as Morgana I'd know the limits and kill conditions surrounding my champion pretty well.

I'm not sure whether its better to join a losing fight and pray the enemy team misplays or to let people die who do dumb stuff. Generally, if it's late game, I commit with them because whether we lose 3 people or 5 people the game may be a loss at that point.

Pinging a player doesn't mean he knows what you meant by that.

I could ping the bush. But what does it mean ? Is there someone inside the bush ? Is there a ward there? Is there a shaco trap ? Do you want me to ward it ? I don't know. Use the chat system to say exactly what you want. If you don't tell your ally what you intent to do, of course there will be no commitment from you and your allies. Both of you don't know when you'll engage.

Your allies might also not commit because of how you play. Do you follow their playstyle? Are they playing aggressively while you play passively? Again, say it in chat. He might disagree and you'll have to adapt.

If you died because your ally(ies) didn't follow you, now you'll learn that shouldn't have played like that and just learned your mistake. There's no need to flame and call him names.

Not every game is perfect and not every game works the same way.
