I want a jungle item that grants magic resist and another one that grants armor

Basically we have AD, AP, AS, and Health jungle items...why are the tanks not getting proper representation? The damage dealers get 3 different items and tanks get one. Not fair at all. And with Elise already being a champion that exists...we now have the more popular Warwick that kind of does her job too, and tanks are having a hard time in the jungle. Never mind the every so often out of control Lee Sin or Graves or whatever jungle assassin that has so much burst it makes tanks look like inters. If we could get some MR/Armor items instead of the health item that just inflates the opposing jungle's damage numbers and gives them an S grade for no good reason, that would be great.

Health IS the proper representation of a tank jungle item.

So explain to me how 1/3=1. Because I don't see why you would tell me that otherwise.

1/4 serve Tanks, just like 1/4 serve Mages, 1/4 serve on-hit champions and 1/4 serve AD scaling champions.

On-hit champions can generally buy AD/AP item if they scale with it, so that reasoning isn't very good, especially since such items generally have such stats on them. Also, there are a ton of hybrid damage champs so they can get either the AD or the AP item depending on how they wish to scale. No matter how you look at it, damage dealing champs have a lot of options while tanks do not.

I mean tanks can buy AD/AP enchant if they really want. Other than that, cinderhulk serves its function as the tank enchant pretty well already.

It's as good as saying Tanks can build AP or AD or Health and scale with that.

Name 5 Junglers that can build either way and have a chance of being effective with either build.

Health is the universal Tank stat. It counters Magic Damage, it counters Physical Damage, and it counters True Damage. A health based Jungle item will work against every team, MR or Armor items would be marginally effective against balanced teams.

While that's true they can buy offensive items, they stop being a tank at that point and become fighters. There isn't necessarily anything wrong with that strategically, I just find it distasteful that Riot seems to be removing tanks from the game but if they're going to put a halt to that, I think adding 2 new jungle items would help a lot for it.

Where else would you put tanks but in the jungle, after all? You can make an argument for making them the bottom lane partner of the carry, but I feel like a support will generally always be the superior choice there. Tanks have been mostly crowded out from top lane for a while...and now it's gotten to the point with the various updates like the Sejuani update that Tanks just cannot compete in the jungle anymore either.

5 champs that can build either AD or AP jungle item? That's easy. Nasus, Shyvana, Renekton, Shaco, Teemo.

The problem with the health jungle item is that it just is too vulnerable to health shredding items and abilities and there are a lot of those. Why, even the new Warwick punishes anyone that buys the health item because it's easier for him to get his W passive going against them than against someone that heals themselves. Elise has always been around and has a nasty habit of crushing tank jungle champions. Then there's Giant Slayer, Liandry's Torment and Blade of the Ruined King...items that require the tank to then get armor, magic resist, and lots of it, just so their health remains relevant. Why not just let them build magic resist or armor to start with?

Ever since they removed the smite buffs and replaced them with the plants(meaning Cinderhulk doesn't get value anymore from the Gromp buff since it no longer exists) I've been wishing they'd come out with alternative tank jungle items. This isn't a new thought from me. I just feel like we're in more desperate need of these kinds of items than ever, now that the state of tanks is in the worst place it's ever been.

Zac and SInged have been turned into supports, and Rammus is now some kind of weird diver/assassin hybrid. Our tanks are practically non-existent. We got Malphite and Cho'Gath...Poppy, maybe 1 or 2 more, and that's about it.

Why the fuck would you take the AP jungle item on Renekton, let alone take him in the jungle in the first place?

  1. His ultimate scales with AP. 2) His ultimate, his heal, and his jump all scale with Movement speed, and the AP jungle item provides that. Also, Renekton makes a very good jungle. He's good at killing all the basic camps and he can solo Dragon. I actually take the AS jungle item most often on him, but I take the AP jungle item on him more than the AD item on him, even though he has 3 abilities scaling with AD as opposed to 1. And FTR, he can even get a lot of value out of the health item, and I honestly believe that if they made armor/MR jungle items, that he could find use out of them every once in a while, after all, such stats would be useful to make his heal and his ultimate do more.

What You want is irrelevant. The DATA that shows what the game needs is not.
