I would use the Practice Tool SO much more if it weren't so limited!!

The time limit and the lack of multiplayer are the big problems to me.

It has a lot of potential as a tool but at least for fun's sake it's missing a lot of options, and I've no idea why!

Practice Tool has been out for 2 years now and it hasn't gotten a single (meaningful) update AT ALL.

There are still omega glaring problems with it (the numbers aren't necesarily ordered after priority):

  1. Lack of multiplayer (this is the number one problem with Practice Tool I could think of).

  2. Can't change champions/runes/summoner spells once you're in the game (this is just time-consuming).

  3. Can't change dummy stats (Maximum health damage like BotRK and Liandry's are hard to test in this case, and the passive 100 armor and MR can lead to different numbers than in practice).

  4. Can only spawn 4 dummies ("there are 5 champions on the enemy team so let's only add 4 dummies" - Riot Eggemin).

  5. Can't spawn Baron Nashor (seriously, what the fuck).

  6. Can only jump forward 30 seconds at a time (this is especially frustrating when you have time based runes).

  7. There isn't a "suicide" button so if you want to die you have to wait for a turret to kill you (this is especially frustrating when testing Sion's passive).

  8. You can only spawn one bot (this is frustrating when you have runes like Ultimate Hunter that require you to kill multiple unique champions).

  9. You can't control the bot in any way (this sucks if you want the bot to build specific items).

  10. Practice tool is limited to only Summoner's Rift (this sucks if you want to test out ARAM/TT specific items).

If Riot can fix all of these problems before Season 9, I'd be very happy.

the dummies are also kinda useless for determining damage bc of things like BORK and unsettable armor/mr

I am almost certain they just want to make sure it´s so unusable that only a handful of people will actually use it, to keep people on the rift.

because imagine the practice tool was actually useful. Everyone would just practice and no one would play the game anymore.

riot might not be adding multiplayer to practice tool for the same reasons they’ve expressed being hesitant to bring back original urf. riot has said in the pst that after the release and ending of the first two years of urf, they saw a drop in the number of veterans playing the game because people played urf and then were dissatisfied with the regular gamemodes. adding multiplayer might produce the same effect, the same as playing any other game on god mode or woth all the console commands. other critiques such as rate of stack stacking being slow still stand as features to adjust.
