Karthus Question to Riot

I enjoy Karthus, I began to play him a long while ago, and I haven't played him that much. However, every time I play him, I find myself enjoying his aesthetic, his voice over, his story, and some of his abilities.

But what always confuses me is his Kit. Why is this Lich blasting balls of (??ech??) on the ground, and making more (??ech??) around him. I get that it's some sort of soul thing, but it makes no sense to me for what a Lich is.

A Necromancer, who wants more knowledge, so they sacrifice their life for undeath to learn more and find more knowledge. So if Karthus is a Lich, why isn't he more of taking an enemy's sould and putting it in a phylactery or using his phylactery or summoning undead?

Why does Karthus create a wall of (??ech??) to slow his enemies, when that same stuff is harming an enemy with every other thing he does including his auto attack?

So I ask you Riot, are there any plans to change Karthus? Not even to change him to what I've said, but just to change him. It's obvious many people don't like him, he's not exactly viable in the highest form of play, when he is strong he has to be nerfed, and simply can't be given complementary buffs. If his R is buffed, it's Toxic, If his E is buffed, his aoe damage will be too strong.

So do you?

Karthus isn't a lich, nor is he a necromancer, nor does he raise the undead, nor is his goal a pursuit of knowledge (at least, it isn't after he became what he is, a revenant). Here's his lore: http://leagueoflegends.wikia.com/wiki/Karthus/Background

As for his abilities, it's magic. He's unleashing the power the black mists of the Shadow Isles granted him. There's no logical, scientific explanation or name given to his abilities. It is what it is. You could question why Syndra's power manifests itself in her black orbs, why Ahri's charm spell is a heart shaped projectile, why Malzahar's Void abilities are what they are... It's pointless. It doesn't and will never make sense because magic does not exist, and that's the beauty of it, it can be anything.

Okay first Karthus is a Lich, second he is not evil.

Third lay wast is collapsing life or focusing necrotic energy to a critical point were it rupture.

Wall of pain needs to be buffed and would be cooler if they called it Torn Vail of Eternity.

C. His Q could be buffed by having it always deal double damage to champs and large jungle mobs and triple damage to single target champs and large jungle mobs.

  • I hope that Karthus gets a buff in the up coming mage patch.
