Starve senna vs support senna?

What the heck is this? Had someone who queued for ADC, and say they were playing "starve" senna; essentially buying a sup item and not wanting to farm. I traditionally play heal/shielding supports, so this was not what i was prepared to play with. How is this not what support senna is? Why wouldn't this person just queue for support and play senna? Is there actually a difference between 'starve' senna and support senna? Or is the difference just in their type of lane partner?

From what I've seen, the main difference is the lane partner between these two playstyles.

The traditional Support Senna only works with long range ADCs like Caitlyn or Ezreal, to bully their opponents to death.

The starve Senna or, how would the Koreans call it, "Fasting" Senna works with a melee Supportive Tank or Carry-type Bruiser. Because of her Soul mechanic, she will eventually become the ADC of the team while the lane partner will have enough gold to build selfish Tank items for greater survivability or bruiser items to be another threat for the enemy team.

Essentially, in one comp you have 2 ADCs, in another you have one ADC and one more carry or tank. If you are interested in seeing it in action, search for the most recent pro play games. A big part of them use this strat and I think ADC Senna pretty much has been replaced by it.

Senna is really good with melee supports so having Senna get slightly higher gold income than a normal support while also giving your tank support a higher income is preferable to playing support senna with an adc, because double immobile botlane is just asking for trouble.
