Support Veigar, a good idea?

So I have been playing veigar for the past couple of matches, and why is he not played as a support? He has a good stun, does not requre a lot of items and has great damage potiental. I understand that he does not have a shield or heal, but neither does human torch over there, so why is brand played as a support but not veigar? You could even say that vegiar is better at being support than brand seeing as he gets ap from just hitting enemies with his spells, making him less item dependant than brand. His stun is also a lot more reliable to land than brand.

Now I fully admit i am a dumb noob who is bad at the game, so please do point out any issues with vegiar support. I am here to learn.

It works, there was a short period where it was pretty popular actually. The problem is that he scales so good with CS that you're losing a lot of his power by not doing so.

Brand goes bot as support because he has immensely high base damage and no scaling. Veig has low base in exchange for hyper scale.

Veigar isn't a bad support, try running glacial augment with item 3030 item 3905 Get 45% cdr and you have a really strong CC bot with decent damage.

However you can't pick him into everything. He does really good into melee heavy teams thanks to his stun, throwing it down in a team fight catching all the melees in a box.

Not against a competent enemy support.

You're going to be so reliant on stun while the other support will have tons of utility, so as long as you keep that in mind you may do okay. However you may end up getting bullied out of lane too, and in this meta sitting under tower bot lane means you've lost lane and need a gank to stay viable because eventually you need to go for dragon with the jungler.

He's much better mid lane because of CS. He may be okay in some instances, but bot lane is the snowball lane. You have to be really careful with what you pick down there when going off-meta and make sure it makes sense. Otherwise the whole team will blame you for the ADC melting everyone and every structure while your ADC is struggling to stay relevant in the match. I really wish ADCs weren't so out of control.
