The new Trinity Force and GP

So I know almost the entirety of Triforce users don't actually need the crit chance and will much prefer the attack speed instead, but GP has kind of really needed that crit chance....

My question then is do you other GP players still plan on building the new Triforce even though it won't have any crit? Or will you more likely be using some different build, and if so what exactly is it? Cause I'm curious as to what everything thinks about this lol

I'm worried about what to build now as well. It's still worth to buy Trinity Force just because of the other benefits it gives but I might build Statikk Shiv again on him to make up the crit. It's really annoying because the one item change forces Gangplank to either give up crit and do significantly less damage most times, or build crit and attack speed which goes against the way I play him and I feel like he's supposed to be played since his rework. You're supposed to set up barrels and explode people, not run up and auto attack them a ton of times which is what he will probably need to do since there's only 2 crit items that don't give attack speed.

Maybe start building him with more of a focus on on-hit damage like Trinity Force, Muramana, Dead Man's Plate and just lots of AD to make up for it. Idk honestly

Would he still have enough damage without his crit though?

And if you were to build Muramana on him, would IBG be better then Triforce? I mean IBG is pretty strong right now and GP doesn't really need the attack speed they're putting on Triforce :P

IBG is going to be a weaker choice still, the spellblade damage is 100% base AD on it whereas Trinity Force's is 200%. Trinity also has bonus AD, the same CDR (if the changes go out) and half the mana of IBG which isn't going to really be a problem if you build Essence Reaver or Muramana. GP's barrels slow so you don't really need the Icy Zone of IBG, and the armor IBG gives can easily be bought on other items.

Well isn't the spellblade for IBG at least 150%?

But yeah I forgot Triforce was also going to be 20% CDR, and good point about the barrels, the slow field would be pointless :P

no the spellblade for IBG is 100% base AD, so half the damage of Triforce

going that way might make up for the crit damage. muramana procs are pretty insane.

Yea attack speed feels so bad to buy on GP and it is going to be everywhere in his build next patch. Its nasty

While Irelia will benifit fro mthis I get a feeling that a new sheen item might need to happen.

Somethign like Sheen + Cloak of Agility + Brawler's Gloves + 450 = RNGesus take the wheel. 30% crit chance 10% CDR Unique passive - SPELLBLADE: after using ability the next auto attack apples 100% base AD that can crit of the source of the damage can crit (). basically only auto attacks and Parrrley. THis damage is increased by the 50% crit damage boost from Infinity edge.

Just a concept but it would be something that might be considered worthwhile on GP and some low CD marksmen who weave abilities and auto attacks.

Yea I really like the idea of them just adding another version of trinity so that different groups of champions stop taking turns feeling awesome or feeling shitty about trinityforce. However far less champs use the crit version of trinity so I think it is unlikely to happen.

Mostly riot just needs to settle on a version of trinity for the long term and then buff the champions that end up getting the version of trinity that sucks for them. At the moment it makes the most sense to screw GP and Corki with trinity changes and then add power directly into their kits

no we don't need an item that gives ad carries burst as well as sustained damage.

WHO CARES ABOUT GP... WHAT ABOUT MY PONY T-T item 3070 Hecarim item 3070

Vicarious1171 votes

He doesn't really need the crit though, I think the increased CDR mainly, on top of the less useful attack speed, is a good swap for the pony.

People still need sheen and rage passives, so I assume it will still be built but with more crit items

I don't normally do crit builds with GP just because I feel like I do bad with them. I either do blue build or something else.

Blue Build: item 3042 item 3025 item 3142 item 3158 item 3156 item 3036

Does that even work? I feel like it's the crits on his barrels that do most of the damage, does he do enough without any crit?
