I have quit because of it. Haven't played in over a week and don't plan on returning unless I hear about radical changes being made to the entire ranked system.
I was Gold III last season, it was my first season actually trying to get better at the game. This season after "promos" I was automatically relegated into Silver III, which is the distance most people were experiencing themselves fall to. No matter, I would just work hard and try to not get mad and climb my way to Diamond or high Platinum (my goal).
With the introduction of DQ I fell from Silver I to Silver III and quit last week. I can't take the skill variance (that's a polite way of putting it). I've never seen such unbalanced groupings of players. Champions are beyond broken, I couldn't carry my team against a Swain (who wasn't fed) when I was 17-3 ADC. This happened multiple times in multiple lanes with different champions. And no I don't think I'm really good, my point is that no matter how hard I try to win and not get mad at my teammates it has become too much.
Before my last match, I was playing Varus ADC and doing very well with my support against the enemy team's bot lane. Stomping them I guess it could be said. No matter. Our mid lane who took Kayle against Jayce fed 10 kills in under 20 minutes to him. At first myself and our jungle got mad at him, saying things like "Look man just let the lane go. We're winning our lanes, just let your lane go."
Well guess what. That Jayce was a high Diamond smurf who went over 30 kills before we were defeated, I ended at 9/9. The Jayce in the end-game chat invited us all to watch his live stream on Twitch of him pub stomping low ELO players.
Good riddance.
