Support PSA: Post UP in lane.

To clear a few things up, I"m an ADC Main, so yes this directly affects me, yes I"m biased and whatnot, no that doesn't actually invalidate my point but you're cute for trying.

Being an AD means I also have some knowledge of bot lane and how it should be played. Now I've played with a lot of supports over the years, and this season I've started to notice a troubling trend: Supports playing way back and forcing a considerable loss in lane. We'll walk out from blue buff, and instead of approaching the wave with me my support will often times stop under tower and just wait for no discernible reason. Now as a bot laner I know full well we're not about to die if we walk up to hit minions at level one against Leona Ezreal barring some sort of massive fuck up or a 1v2 because one of us decided not to play the lane. And no I've not died to this so it's not just a matter of me being salty and blaming my support for my 'mistake'. I understand doing this sort of thing vs Lucian/Draven with a hook support or early cc as Ashe Sona, but if we're fucking Nami Caitlyn into any non kill lane you don't need to give it up! We will win this lane, and if we don't it'll be an execution failure not because we just let them have it free.

I don't play this way. And I only play support. So I never see it on my team. And I can't think of seeing it much if at all on the other team. But I will say this: ADCs, especially in lower ELO (not sure where you are), tend to be horribly abusive to their supports, especially if said support does something like play a Soraka or Janna. I mean EVERYTHING is your fault. They could teleport to top lane for whatever reason, die under a turret, and still find a way to blame you because you weren't there with them or whatever.

The point I am making is I would expect you to run into a lot of players who hate the role and are filling it or are waiting to see how you play to determine how they should play. IF anything, they are probably trying to force you to play on their level. And that is absolutely fair, even if it is somewhat unreasonable.

When I am really trying to play the lane correctly (most of the time), I will start off very aggressive and see how my ADC does. If we get along, I keep going. If they hesitate a lot, I stay back (usually). If they do things like shove lane at level 1 and try to go all-in, I just take their farm while they are at base and do my own thing and hope for a good late game.

Your advice or expectations of how your games should go do not necessarily mesh with your support's experience with ADCs in general, so do expect no matter how great/considerate you might be that you will have several supports who are very on-edge given their experiences.

you think it's just supports playing way back? everyone is playing way back like they have a ryze ult to catch. it pisses me the fuck off, translates to everyone being scared if you ask me.
