@Rito Genuine question about DFG removal?

Okay so, it seems to me that one of the primary reasons for DFG being removed was that the burst was too high for champions (specifically assassins) whose bursts were already high in the first place.

Why then is Fizz getting the exact same bonus to his ult now? Isn't that entirely counter productive? Fizz already has a pretty high burst, removing DFG but adding the passive to his ult accomplishes absolutely nothing. Actually, it does, it lets Fizz get the bonus of the DFG with one less item. >.>

DFG was removed, Ahri's damage amplification was removed, why then go completely against this style for Fizz?

I play Ahri, I play Fizz, I play Kat. I buy DFG on every single one of them. But I just find this extremely unfair.

Could someone from Riot provide a better explanation for this decision? It just doesn't make sense to me.

Thanks!

He got nerfs to the rest of his DPS. Now he has to hit with his Ult before doing max damage (kind of like how Ahri used to hit with Charm first, or how you use DFG first).

Yes, I understand that. But from removing DFG and Ahri's charm amplification, it looked to me like Riot found this style of mechanic generally unhealthy. If they're going for healthy assassins they shouldn't be implementing unhealthy mechanics in the first place, regardless of how they balance it out.

I'm pretty sure the issue with DFG isn't the damage amp. DFG hasn't even had that until rather recently.

The issue with DFG has always been the actual burst damage the item itself adds via an additional ability. Riot's reworked and nerffed that item rather frequently through LoL's history.

Rather than having ~3 damaging abilities in a burst rotation, you have ~4.

And I'm pretty sure Riot is trying to carefully balance champions around the abilities they have so burst can feel useful without being oppressive.

DFG has usually been pushing oppressive territory.
