Blitzcrank early-game Rocket Fist a bit too much against base movement speed champs?
No preambling, just an observation I think is worth noting. Blitzcrank's Rocket Fist has a fixed speed that is exceptionally effective early game due to champions not having much, if any, movement speed boosts.
Champions with low base movement speed are especially affected. Everyone has low movement speed, but Rocket Fist is still very fast. My thought is to scale it a little so its speed isn't fixed, but scales appropriately as your allies against him become more maneuverable.
There just aren't any truly reliable counters to a Blitz who can hit his Rocket Grabs, no matter how good you are. It's much faster than other champs at early levels, and much easier to connect. The grab hits, and the best-case scenario if you live is that you've got very little health left and have to retreat. More often, the other support, most of which have slow base movement speeds, gets focused and killed quickly by both Blitz and his carry. Assuming he takes bot against two other champs, neither one wants to go near the bushes because no minions are going in there, so a ward isn't really a practical solution. It's not uncommon for them to bring a scanner to ensure Grass Superiority. I like that term, after typing it.
Rocket Grab also has very little casting time in addition to traveling super-fast. Without a quick magic shield like Morgana's or Sivir's, there's no real risk in using it, because even if it misses, he recovers very quickly. Its cooldown is also relatively short, and he has lots of chances to land it, all of which are good chances at kills, especially once he uses his uppercut and the carry begins unloading.
If you don't agree, that's fair, but please offer good advice for an early-game Blitz who knows what he's doing (obviously a poor-aim Blitz is easier, but a good one can be nightmarish).
