All Facts, No Filler: Nubrac vs Nightblu3

Put under gameplay because it's discussing a Teemo support strategy, which would fall under this category

This is really just beating a dead horse. But I think this is the last punch we'll need to throw.

After watching this whole thing, I can say this: Nubrac is in the right, but defends his points very poorly, which almost makes Nightblue3 NOT sound completely delusional. Here's my bullet-pointed Op-Ed. Because this is what I on my first Sunday of the summer. Write Op-Eds about video game drama.

  • Nightblue3 loves to deflect the fact that he was verbally abusive by saying that he can ban Nubrac on Twitch, when that's not what the point is.

  • Nightblue3 has said on multiple occasions that he doesn't care about what riot or the league of legends ToS says, when that's what they're talking about. Morally wrong or not, they are discussing the ban and the ban only. If it breaks the rules, it's bannable, and if it doesn't, it's not. Period end of story. Just because you don't like riot NB, doesn't mean that a strategy that was blatantly stated as not bannable is bannable because you don't agree with it. As a parallel, if you don't like the government, you can't say something does or does not break the law just because you personally think it's morally wrong. Whether you agree or not, the law is the law. And whether or not you like Riot Games, the rules are the rules.

  • He likes to bring up the "what if I, as a jungler, clear my whole jungle and take top xp and cs because I think it'll win us the game, isn't that bannable?" as a response to Nubrac's teemo strat. That is completely different. Teemo support mid isnt taking cs. xp is still being distributed the same by each player. 2 players are sharing shared lane xp, 2 players are sharing individual lane xp, and a jungler is getting the jungle xp. Nightblue3's delusional comarison has no merit.

  • Nubrac brought up the point that NB3 indirectly sent viewers to harrass him. Here's the thing: nightblue3, you did in fact say "do NOT go to his stream." But you have influence. You bringing it up brings attention to it, thus people will click on it whether you said to or not. Nubrac did not send a link to "thousands of people," he sent it to 4 teammates, and 5 people on the enemy team if he linked it post-game. You bringing his stream up INDIRECTLY sends people to it, whether you told them to or not. And these people watching your stream obviously have a bias towards your opinion. And on paper this may look like a troll strategy, so anyone watching your stream hears you trash talking him out loud and ingame, and will probably carry that to his stream. If you said nothing about his stream link, nobody would have clicked on it period. If you knew anything about how fame works, you would know this. You probably do know this, but you're probably happy that Nubrac didn't mention that thoroughly enough.

  • Tarzaned and Alicopter had nothing important to say.

  • Nubrac presents his side of the story very poorly. You can tell (even besides the outfit) that he was not professionally prepared for any logical counter argument. He hardly gets to the point within 30 seconds, he repeats himself, and he words stuff so weirdly it makes his own points sound ridiculous at times, even though I agree with it. In his defense, I do think he was great at refraining from insults, unlike NB3, which makes him already on the winning side objectively.

  • Nubrac never went "back and forth" with the "Teemo is good/Teemo is bad" argument. If NB3 payed any attention to the words Nubrac said, he said Teemo as a champion isn't good, Teemo support isn't that good, but his Teemo strategy is good. That checks out.

  • Nightblue3 also likes to bring up the fact that if the laner doesn't want you in their lane, you can't just stay there. Here's the thing: People will AFK for the smallest of things. 3 people AFK'd because of a Teemo support mid. I have also seen players become extremely toxic and AFK because I taxed a single cannon minion from them. Whether or not they AFK is on that person and not Nubrac. People will AFK based on whether they think they can win or not, and whether this strategy made them angry enough to ragequit the game. That is not in Nubrac's control. People will also AFK for certain playstyles the enemy does. It does not matter if they AFK or not in terms of griefing. The strategy has pros and cons, and just because you do not agree with it, does not make AFK'ing, raging in or out of the game, or anything purposefully negatively impactful to the game okay for you to do in response. Two wrongs doesn't make a right. That's something commonly taught in elementary school, Nightblue3.

  • Nubrac made an excellent point here that I think he should have stuck to. It has two parts to it: A: If a high elo or popular streamer/player used this strategy or a different strategy that is wildly out of the meta like Faker, and it showed even half-decent results, everybody in the game would try it and play it often. Furthermore, they would also defend any bans that would result in this playstyle. That's just a fact. He's only getting banned because a streamer reported him, and Nubrac is not popular in the slightest. (or wasn't until this case.) B: There have been examples of this happening ie. Sona Taric bot, Funnel strategy, 2-man Jungle meta, smite mid/top in earlier seasons, etc.

Overall, I think NB3 is in the wrong, presented himself poorly, and made a fool of himself by recording this. I'm a little too lazy to rewatch this video to get all the times NB3 contradicted himself, yet falsely accused Nubrac of doing so, but it happened a lot.

People should play what they want how they want if that will win the game. If I play crit blitz top and I am 20/0 I should never get reported for that. Simple as that. This goes for every other strategy.

youre allowed to try new strategies. Youre not allowed to spring new strategies on your team in ranked. If you want to do an off meta strategy and your team doesnt want you to and you do it anyway, you are no longer playing to win.
