Imagine Elon Musk's OpenAI bots in League from Dota

I am unaware the game mechanics behind Dota, but let's see how bots could do in League

  • What bots Stride in

  • Scripting If we want a super advanced AI. Getting 3rd party scrips will be a go to. Armed with scrips AI can easily dominate as and against skillshot champions like Ezreal and more commonly Xerath . Bots will likely be better on Ezreal because his arcane shift brings skills, and forgiveness to his kit that a skilled user can abuse. With the knowledge of a champions engage range this can easily limit Leona andAlistar effectiveness against bots. With scripts bots can easily win 1v1. Teamfights are also likely places for AI to dominate but not as much because I simply don't believe advanced AI can calculate target priority. Sure, you can always target their ADC. but in some matchups it isn't a marksman. Some matchups their marksman are losing hard while say their carry top laner is fed. Factors like this can easily favour a human player. Another thing is predicting when people are gonna burn flash or use mobility abilities like Ezreals Arcane shift. This can be pretty difficult for AI to predict as not all players are different and there are a variety of places to go to to dodge. Scripting nonetheless can put AI at a huge advantage

  • Efficiency This really just means a much broader scale on league. Efficiency can be item purchases to how you jungle path, etc. I believe bots can easily stride in efficiency in everything except maybe some small issues with item slot efficiency. Jungle clearing can easily be in the bots favor as it can likely know not only the best routes but the bests routes at each time and situation. Another thing is farming. AI will be almost perfect in farming. If we don't factor in stuff like giving up CS to respect your lane opponents lane dominance. In the video this robot knows how to bait. So it can likely know how to respect and retreat. Another thing is macro. AI will probably be incredibly dominant in macro plays. Humans even the best players make macro mistakes. Slot efficiency will be complicated. Sometimes a bot will have difficulties choosing to buy certain items in certain situations

Nonetheless bots can still have a lot of issues, let me know in the comments for any potential weaknesses.

The biggest weakness I'm aware of is the champion pool. The DOTA competition limited the pool to something like 18 champions for both sides to pick from, even after a year or two of training the AI. Kits are hard to teach a bot.

yeah, sadly the massive variety of kits in league is probably a big factor holding them back from implementing "advanced" level bots.

I wish league had a higher bot difficulty because as long as you have a keyboard and hands and have been playing the game more than a couple weeks intermediate bots are way too easy.

I bet the bots would do very well in league. It is simpler than dota.

I do wonder if the bots would be easier or harder in League. On the one hand, League is mechanically a bit less complex than DotA, which makes it easier to learn. On the other hand, that means that the difference between a computer player and a human player is actually reduced in terms of how much of an advantage perfect timing grants, which might give an edge to the humans that doesn't exist in DotA. I'd be curious to see it.
