Easy enough to pick up, difficult to master.
It's not for nothing that the champion usually has a < 50% winrate yet hard carries when played by Elise mains.

Once you get her kit down the only real challenge is the later stages of the game when your trying to navigate teamfights.

Using her rappel to its fullest potential and team fighting are what separate The good from bad. Also knowing how to gank starting rappel from spider form into human when the situation calls for it as opposed to the simple human cocoon toss gank is something that takes time to master
