Yi: the champion that sucks skill out of the game.

He has tons of ways to remove cancer that rito keeps putting in the game like adcs and super long ranged mages. If youre fed you can even 1 shot jannas and other bullshit peel supports that never should have been made. On the other hand he removes skill on both sides of the isle.

For starters lets say why yi removes skill for enemies. You either remove him by using one stun on him, or you lose the entire teamfight. (note you could also waste cc and other forms of peel earlier than when he engages). If hes running at you, yi actually has skill on both sides. If yi uses alpha strike as the projectiles of his enemies go out he can easily win a teamfight by himself. On the other hand he will be kited the entire time which is why you imght want to alpha strike sooner. Unfortunately there is too much movespeed in the game for yi to catch up most of the time . So instead he is going to alpha strike in because either he alpha strikes in or he dies before he reaches the target (tis be the myth about yi). Which means you either have cc up for when yi is next to you or you die. Removing skill.

Now why does yis kit remove skill for the yi himself. Well for starters your q being a reactionary tool in a teamfight is a joke. You ever hear the meme "i was in alpha!?" He probably was in alpha. Alpha strike takes very little skill because of the fact that we are playing league of legends and not dota. Which means while alpha strike has a cast time (as well as meditate for some fucked reason) most other abilities dont. Which means you are actually much more likely to come out ahead by spamming alpha strike over actually using it to effectively dodge abilities. Unless of course they have a channel in which case your channel is going to last less than their channel.

I cant tell you how many times ive dodged a leona ult or zillean bomb only for it to stun me anyway.

Meditate also removes skill even know it obviously should be the differnce between a good yi and a great yi. Ever see a yi meditate in between attacks? That actually does close to nothing. As a player that maxes meditate every single game ive learned a few terrible things about the ability

1. Meditate doesnt start immediately *basically meditate doesnt give you resistances or healing when you press it, it takes a few seconds for the channel to start.
2. The meditate tick happens later than the resistances. *if you use meditate you will heal much later than the resistances start to apply.
3. Meditate can be used in snares. *useful tip. This completely sucks the skill out of the ability. If you use it as a jungle yi youre wasting an autoattack for nothing. If you have it maxed you already get insane healing off it so it removes skill anyway.

Yi players also arent allowed to use any logic meme like "dont use your alpha strike to engage". why? Because range exist and all range has shittons of mobility and/or a peel support. Basically you are actually better off going in with alpha strike most of the time rather than trying to catch up to someone. This actually has more to do with the state of the game and not the champion.
