Why doesnt yis q activate duskblade?

Mos Deadly98··10 votes·1,327 views

I tested out on the pbe and i found that yis q seems to last exactly 1 second. While i realize im probably the only one that uses lethality why doesnt yi's q activate duskblade? It fits everything requirement.

Edit: so after reading comments heres quick edit about some information. Yis q does last exactly 1 second on 4 targets (this is an average the distance between things sometimes changes it by nanoseconds) Kayns ultimate does activate duskblade if he holds for a second. Yi dissapears from the map in alphastrike making it clear they intend that he isnt visible anymore.

Well because Technically he doesn't become unseen even though he appears he does but you still have an animation showing him on your screen same

Kayn gets the duskblade buff after 1 second during his ult, even though you can clearly locate him on one of your allies. Yi, on the other hand, literally disappears, even off the mini map. It doesn't make sense for him to not get duskblade.

You got a point here.

this is true but you have to understand the wording used by riot "Kayn infest his target" meaning he himself becomes unseen...but Yi " bounces for up to 4 times on unique enemies" He's still technically seen I understand the frustration with this but its all due to wording and the reason you see a mark for kayn due to well a lot is going on in a fight and lower Elo players don't pay much attention to their buff debuff bar thats the only reason you see Kayn at all during his ulti

That's a good question. I think it might be a bug due to the exceptions they coded to not make him lose monster aggro in the jungle. Not sure though.

I think that being untargable doesn't count

Kayn gets the duskblade buff 1 second after he uses ult. Untargetability does count.

But I'm not sure if Kayn is a especial case. When he was released you wouldn't proc it two times, but then they changed it. Perhaps untargetability wasn't meant to count, but they made Kayn a especial case since he's an assassin that was underperforming.

Not that sure. Does Fizz E grant the buff? Xayah R?

I don't think so actually.

Flavi Kang1 votes

Fizz E last 0.75 seconds. Not long enough. Xayah R lasts 1.5 seconds. Idk whether she gets it or not.

But again, they can both be seen during their untargetability animation. Yi's character model disappears during alpha strike. He even disappears off the minimap, like most stealth champions.

I'm not saying that alpha strike makes him stealthed, but when two abilities (Kayn's ult and alpha strike) are very similar, it doesn't make sense when duskblade works for one but not the other.

Because you don't become invisible. That is also why zed cant proc it with his R. It's the same deal.

Zed vanishes for 0.75 seconds. Not long enough for duskblade. Yi untargetability lasts 1 second on 4 targets.

Probably because it's more like 0.99sec or something. However, i think it's intentionally that it doesn't work, else duskblade yi could be pretty absurd, he'd have the most frequent acces to the proc of any champ.

better just remove item 3147 from the game, it is a toxic item.

Its simple really, at each bounce yi actually materializes back onto the map for like .0000015 seconds or so before heading into another rift to strike his enemy again, think of it like a monster that can attack from the Ethereal Plane at will in order for it to do so they must first step into the material plane even if its only long enough to send off an attack.

That is not how alpha strike works......

I agree

I play Yi lithality sometimes Yeah it activates Duskblade , I mean , Yi is a fighter after all but if you look in champion info , his main role is " assassin "

SlashStriker1 votes

Because Yi's Q last less than 1 second at maximum of 4 target

FurriesAreHot1 votes

You don't actually become invisible, you just change form and become untargetable

Z3Sleeper1 votes

He's "visible" and intangible. Different from unseen. By game coding anyway.

They could very well make this a thing if they wanted to.

Eedat1 votes

Yi goes untargetable, not invisible. You can actually see him dashing around between targets

Escheton1 votes

1: Because it isn't an auto-attack. In case you meant it like that. 2: Because you don't actually leave vision. You become untargetable, yes. But you're still there, in full vision. 3: Kayn should not be getting duskblade on ult.

DragonShea1 votes

item 3147 should only be viable on champs with a legit stealth ability. Champs like Vayne Twitch (sorry but I have to play devil's advocate on those to) Talon Shaco Zed Kayn and MonkeyKing
