Since Riot said they don't want players to have to track CDs

And they did implement the Dragon/Baron timers and Ally Summoner Spell CD on the Scoreboard (TAB), why not Enemy Summoner Spell?

I am not necessarily saying it should be implemented, just asking why not.

EDIT: Of course, only if you or an ally saw the enemy use that spell.

What about ultility masteries though? They lower the CD's of your summoners. You can check online to see whether or not they have them but still it does require a bit of extra math plus actually checking + remembering 5 people's masteries.. Something I don't think I have done.

I agree with you btw. Just being a Devil's Advocate for Rito ^^

If you hover over the summoner spell on the scoreboard, it does say the timer and you can see if they have the mastery.

Didn't know this Lol Been playing for at least two years now xD.

Sure, why not. We know how long the CD is and if we saw them use the summoner, we know when it's back up. Just eliminates more unnecessary bookkeeping.

We could say "but it makes it easier, you won't have to write it in chat anymore". BUT , i think that people that weren't caring about it at first wouldn't even notice a timer in the scoreboard. So why not.

I feel like this reduces an aspect of strategy we shouldn't be reducing, it's one thing to have timers on buffs, but if you know your opponent lost his means of escape it just becomes unfair.

Shroom Junkie1 votes

Maybe... but only if you saw them use that spell, else it would be a little... eh.

Yes, this is the reason for it. A summoner spell can be used by an opponent outside of your vision.

To be fair, they could Smite. Or missclick Flash.

of course, that's what I had in mind. I'll edit it in.

I just don't see what's hard keeping a timer in your head lol

In the heat of battle? Or when you're trying to escape a gank and can't bother thinking about the fact that Sona's Exhaust is down?

Ya, you do simple addition, you know when it will be up, and know if she will have it before the fight even starts.

It'd give you an edge, honestly.

'Should we engage or not? We don't know if they have flash or exhaust. Is it too risky for us?'

You already know it if you time it. You can check the CD by pressing tab, and if you write it down in chat you can do some basic math and figure out when it's up. It's a bit of a chore though. Seeing how Riot added dragon timers adding this might be a good idea as well, less boring book-keeping.

I think that you should gain the cooldown only if you have vision of them.

You know, i've wondered the exact same thing. There should be enemy summoner spell timers.

I'm not sure. I mean, yeah less bookkeeping, but if we went down a slippery slope (not that I'm accusing you of that) people might suggest adding enemy ult cd's and such.

I think someone mentioned it, but utility masteries are a thing. With Dragon and Baron, it's a constant. But giving away enemy CDs could potentially reveal atleast part of their mastery set up, which can make a difference in how you play against them.

Saixos1 votes

you can hover over the enemies summoner spell in chat and it'll show their cd for it inc utility masteries. At least you could with the old hud, dunno about new.

Except the same can apply to Offense and Defense trees with a quick glance through their stats at level 1. Most people won't know stats number per number, but it's incredibly obvious when someone walks into lane with waaaay more or waaaay less of a given stat than normal, and helps to prep for either that full AD Yolo Garen or incredibly beefy Tank Garen early on.

"Can make a difference in how you play against them." and all.

You shouldn't have to outplay your team to win.

You should have to outplay the enemy.

I don't think you should have information like that without earning it. It's the same reason we have ult timers on our allies but not our enemies. It's the reason there isn't a "you can full combo this guy to death right now" thing that cho has on his ult.

Hell, it's what the FoW is for.

Why doesn't riot add an in-game bot that can play for you if you are eating during rift? This game is getting weak.
