Lets also add in that Lee'sin has a burst attack speed on passive(which helps with his 'energy recovery regaining') and has both lifesteal/spell vamp procs thru safeguard which adds to his 'burst' recovery' such as using 'ward hopping' to get close to a enemy target, then Q and E combo on them and finish with R in the process.
Plus not to mention every single one of the abilities with damage has a 90% or higher scaling whether its thru AD, AP on his W shield for 'allies' and his R having a 200% bonus AD scaling last i check. This is why Lee'sin got that ungodly power spike he could pull with 'easy quick level 3 spike', when they first brought out the jungle revamp. Because he is one of the only jungler champions with non-existent 'mana costs' that will normally gate champions who spam alot and could be utterly ruin in a trade if they are low on mana.
Since he has plenty of jump around, damage spikes, utility effects and so on gimmicks,
does not get gated at all by being forced to go specific jungle paths when he has no problem taking different paths early on for the jungle, even if its the large group raptors or the split spawning krugs. He has the burst and AoE to outright not be bothered by jungler mobs who would force plenty of particular junglers to get crab 2nd or even get wolves or gromp instead of risking losing too much health against raptors or krugs.
