Why no talk about Rumble?

Rumble has always been a good champion. Stack flat pen and melt a team. But with the AP item overhaul he is kinda out of hand.

Things most noticeable for me are:

item 3157 is cheaper and is one of rumbles core items.

item 3151 grants more AP, and was already rumbles bread and butter item.

item 3116 Has a better build path and will apply 40% slows with his abilities.

All of this with his abilities to spam with low cooldowns make Rumble feel really unfair at the moment. Tell me what you guys think.

pssst, dont make this popular, i dont wanna see more people picking rumble :o

Fadedpf8 votes

Well they are probably picking Vlad instead which isn't any better.

he's broken as fuck atm

Vlad-Rumble-Viktor is the holy trinity of retardness with the new AP items

Fadedpf1 votes

they are all really strong right now.

They were all really strong before. I don't think it's the new items.

Btw, Rumble requires a good team. He's kinda weak without it. Viktor and Vlad can carry hard in far less hospirtable environments.

thats the point, they were strong befor AND they profit from the item changes, which makes them even a little stronger than before.

Rylais actually is bad on him now. His Q is a dot, so only 20%, E already has a slow, so has ult. Remember, they changed the stacking off slows, only th highest active slow is taken into account. So rylais adds no aditional slow on his Ult, and you also gain no more aditional slow if you did land an E, so all that is affeckted is his Q if you didn't use either ult or E with it....

The main benefit is Zhonyas beeing cheaper while Liandryss makes up for the 20 less ap on zhonya.

However, since Rumble was a beast and highly contested competetive pick already, i'm definitly not opposed to a nerf.

Maybe I don't know about how Rylais works but I think its still probably a good item on him. Rumble is good at farming so the easier build paths and cheaper large rod and making him over the top.

Rumble isn't good at farming. Watch any stream, Rumble is practically guaranteed to have lower cs than his lane opponent, as long as he isn't completely stomping the lane.

2% win rate increase. Not that crazy of an increase.

This patch had new devourer, ez mid still popular, vlad popular, new champion. If he doesn't get changed people will learn he is stupidly good right now and will get nerfed eventually.

Zenthon Prime2 votes

They never will.

Rumble is the Xerath of toplaners. Because there's always someone slightly more OP, he goes unnoticed. It also helps that he has, IMO, the hardest-to-land skillshot in the game and is all-around a fairly difficult champion.

Rumble has one of the highest LCS pick/ban rates, I don't know what you're talking about.

hardest-to-land skillshot in the game

In lane, sure. It can be tricky to get good ones. Not if they're standing anywhere in the jungle. Then you just drop it STRAIGHT DOWN THE CHOKEPOINT and auto-win the teamfight.

That's why I, personally, don't have a problem with Rumble myself, but competitively I expect to see way more Rumble picks/bans and consequently Riot's gonna hit him.

I was mostly talking in terms of SoloQue, but honestly this is a major point. Rumble is already pick or ban at the competitive level and Riot hasn't touched him, so there's a decent chance they'll still ignore him.

But yeah, he's probably still getting nerfed.

cause rumble is hard as shit. i mean without 50 heat all his moves besides ult does shit dmg. and he has the hardest, most game changing ult in the game.. i mean in solo que no one knows what a choke point is. so yeah

His Q deals 315 (+100% AP) without Danger Zone and his E deals 290 (+80% AP) without Overheat. Hardly crap damage. (although he is me main Top)

76Summers1 votes

fine late game hes good. doesn't change the fact he's hard.

Fadedpf2 votes

hes good all game. His ult is hard to land but it isn't hard to tell where you should place it either in someones exit path or right on the biggest clump of people. Going over the dangerzone is easy because he can spam Q and W till a fight happens.

Sire Hippington2 votes

'He's hard to play' is hardly an argument to not nerf him...

76Summers1 votes

didn't say anything about nerfing him

OxBaker2 votes

No, Don Pavoni is right. The stacking slow change actually hurt him a fair bit. I think the Liandry's change probably even's it out but I don't think he comes out ahead much.

IcyPepper1 votes

Whether or not he's OP, he's the main reason I don't top. Because I suck at this game.

Meep Man1 votes

His Q and R only apply 20% slow since they are considered Area Over Time spells, or an area DoT.

The rest are true carry on.

Getting overshadowed by sated devourer atm.
