What if Dorans items actually upgraded into current sub items?

Wouldn't it be gold efficient to upgrade item 1055 into something let's say, item 3144 , item 1056 into item 3802, and item 1054 item 3211? I mean, the reason why I chose these 3 item components were cause of lifesteal, manage regen and hp regen. Maybe even cheaper sub items like item 1053 and item 3801, but then they'd be a lot easier to access and be gold infeccint(primarily because you'd lose item 1054's on hit damage vs. minions), and there isn't exactly an item in which item 1056 would fit into for a lower upgrade cost.

What do you guys think? Commend down bellow!

P.S.: The reason why I hadn't mentioned item 2033 is because it's an upgrade for item 2031.

The way I interpret it, since I haven't looked into this specific topic before, is that Doran's items are the strongest starting items to take into lane and to balance that option out, they don't upgrade into anything. You have to eventually sell them. Alternatively, a longsword, ruby crystal, and tome all continue to upgrade into other items, giving them the advantage of being more efficient towards later in the game for not being quite as strong during laning phase.
