For a while there a really successful 'Diamond solo queue top lane in Korea' build was going around called ZeusPlank. Zeus build is something like:

ITEMS Start Doran's Blade + pot. Your core is Shiv -> Wit's End -> Giant's Belt. With those 3, you have one of the strongest mid-game power spikes in the game. From there you go tank. Randuin's and Banshees (Or Spirit Visage, whichever you prefer). Last item can be whatever you feel like. You probably want Ninja Tabi, but you can get whatever boots you feel fit the situation.

BUILD Level 1: AD runes and offence masteries, Q at level 1. All-in at level 1 because Parrle resets the auto timer so you auto-Q-auto for three passive stacks. This means they can't get away due to the slow, and your poison is ticking for the same damage as Teemo poison at level 1. Except that you also have a nuke, and some of the best level 1 stats in the game. Add Ignite and you have first blood against anyone that lets you get into auto attack range (Or facechecks you in brush).

Level 2: Level E. With E stats and Auto-Q-Auto and Ignite you can still win an all-in against 95% of top laners, especially if you did a lot of damage to them at level 1.

Rest of the game: R>W>Q>E Yes. Max Remove Scurvy. You need the sustain, and huge burst healing+cleanse breaks most top laner's all-in combos. Rely on your auto-q-auto combo for damage, not just spamming the high cost Parrle at them. Remember, Parrle cost goes up as you level it, so keeping it low helps you last hit with it because starting level 3 you are one of the weakest top laners as far as harass does. Turtle up, freeze the lane as best as you can, farm. A maxed Remove Scurvy will stop any tower dive attempts, and actually lets you win trades if you Auto-Q-Auto and remove scurvy them.

POWER SPIKES Shiv. Since your Parrle is lower level, it is cheaper. Carefully last hit, but throw out a Parrle on your enemy whenever the Shiv charge is up. This lets you poke super hard at low cost. Maxed Scurvy gives you sustain and CC breaking to prevent enemy all-ins. Now you can bully most melee tops.

Wit's End. Yes, it adds another 42 damage to Parrle. But the real danger is how brutally it stacks with the Shiv attack speed, and how tanky it makes you against magic damage dealers. Now, if you get into melee range of an enemy you go for the throat. You insta-apply 3 passive stacks, and your autos hit like a ton of bricks. Your biggest problem is that you don't have the raw health to survive in a chaotic fight.

Giant's Belt. Kay. Now you can survive a DFG Assassin burst with Scurvy, and you can kill them before their cooldowns are back up. Run around shooting lightning at people and being unkillable. You really, truly feel unstoppable at this spike, if you get it on time. This is where you win the game ASAP or you fall off like a ton of bricks.

*Ninja Tabi. If you rush a Ninja Tabi in lane against an auto attack oriented AD champion top (Like Trynd) you can give yourself another power spike in lane.

Now, I personally play GP with a few different builds. Zeus is incredible if you have a team you can trust to take advantage of that mid game spike. You NEED to snowball your team before 30 minutes. Zeus is also REALLY REALLY HARD for your opponent to stop, because they can't itemize well against it. Shiv, Wit's, Grog Soaked Blade and Cannon Barrage all deal lots of magic damage. Parrle and auto attacks deal physical. At the end of a game, you will find you deal almost exactly 50/50 Magic and Physical damage. In the long run that means you are bad late game, because you can't build pen. It means you are SUPER strong mid game, because they only have one defence item.

If your team isn't going to end the game quickly, GP is a bad choice no matter your build. Even a full damage crit build pokes at lower range and close to the same damage as a late game Tristana just auto attacking. Shiv/Trinity with Parrle max is my other favorite build for mid-game power.

Crits are fine and dandy, but on hit GP is a monster. A bit of tankyness, a wits end, and an iceborn gauntlet are all you need to make your top lane opponent cry.

My opinion, I'd like; item 3025 item 3143 item 3087 item 3031 item 3277 and item 3156 oritem 3190 depending on if you want more team defense or personal damage. Maybe item 3074 instead of Iceborn Gauntlet. Red said item 3091 but I think all the attack speed is wasted.

Crit GP is best GP. But in all honesty, while crit is fun to play, on-hit with iceborn and wits end or statikk shiv is more viable.

item 3087 item 3078 item 3031 item 3065 item 3143 Boots are either item 3111 oritem 3047 You want moar tankiness go item 3025 instead of item 3078 IE is your way to go as 3rd dmg item, but you can sacrifice dmg by switching item 3031 with another tank item item 3068 item 3102 (and so on), ArP if you need some item 3035 or LS/pushing poweritem 3074 Max R > W > Q > E.

CritPlank melts squishes, but he is easiliy melt. TankPlank soak a lot of dmg but gives very little CCs as a tank, On-hitPlank shines in mid-game but falls off really much after his power spike, MagePlank has a gigantic burst heal and AoE dmg with R but apart form these 2 spells he's pretty useless. BruiserPlank IMHO excels both in damage and tankiness.

GP is GP. You can build (nearly) whatever you want without going wrong at all :D
