What are your honest thoughts on Tankplank?

I rarely see a tank
work out well. Bruiser? Yeah, that's what Koreanplank is. ADC? His Q's now half the lifebars of squishy targets. Even AP GP can get in on the act with his oranges that heal 90% of his health and ult that actually hurts.
Tanks usually like to have multiple forms of CC for initiation, disruption, and peeling. GP has a large AoE slow, and maybe a slow on his Q and AA with
or
, and that's it. No hard CC. If GP sees someone like
or
leap into his backline, those slows aren't going to mean jack. And if the enemy marksman happen to be someone like
or
it would be very hard to stick to them with just a slow.
I'm not saying it can't work, but it's extremely sub-optimal to pick the pirate over a genuine tank champion.
I mostly play GP as full AD, spending the early game harassing and then cutting my way through late game with little trouble, the occasional death.
I want to try Tankplank. Currently, I avoid the enemy marksmen until much later in the game when I can drop my ult and catch them during their retreat.
You do no damage , cant peel , only slow with ult, slow push, and adc still kill you taking 2 secs longer
I like him as a supportive tank in a heavy-ad-comp, but he still could need a little buff to his base-surviveability...as his base-dmg without stacking crit doesn´t go a long way if you´re not really lucky with his ult.
