Thresh is the best support

Not best in like "Thresh is better than Janna" but he is just enjoyable to play with and against

Because he has everything a support would need (except easy relic AAs and heals).

And the skill ceiling is high while like 80% of the supports are quite binary imo. I have like 150k in him and it feels really good to make plays with him

To others he might be annoying with the random lantern saves and auto e auto which takes a chunk of your hp lol

He is literally one of the only few champions that make me happy while playing.

Vayne - pray to god you dont get zoned for 20 min

Lux - everyone BMs you for playing Lux

Fiora - same for Lux

Rammus - I dont really like to tank..

etc.

I'm in slight disagreement to most of your points, but that's because I feel like a lot of that is subjective.

Like the binary comment. Certainly a few supports are binary (Sona, unfortunately, comes to mind), but plenty seem just as varied as Thresh and sometimes Thresh seems just as binary at times.

No comment on skillcap, sorry. I try not to go there for most champions.

As for the fun as, fun against comment, again too subjective in my opinion. Honestly I don't like playing as him, nor do I like playing against him. He's not a frustrating champ for either, he just seems rather boring to play against or with.

This was meant to be an appreciation thread tbh so its 95% subjective..

Id say the more complicated supports are braum, morgana(just because of spellshield), and Lulu. May be missing a few but shit I get chills when playing him.

Q, flash W, Q, R, for that magical journey ish ride for adcs

The flash hook predictions. The flays on dashes.

The life saving lanterns. Like how can a support be more hype?

Maybe I don't like Thresh because he's a little... overhyped, perhaps?

Look, I'll be frank with you. I don't think Thresh it played the most because he outperforms other supports, but rather he's what supports should be. At least, the level of utility and hype you speak of that he has.

I already said I don't like him, but I'll admit that in his favor. Other supports should be like him, more versatile than they are without being overtuned to hell. Some champions, like Soraka, probably will always remain somewhat binary due to their nature alone. Other champions, such as Sona, should be a lot more versatile than they are now but Riot just hasn't got it down quite yet.
