The most obvious one - Kassadin - rift walk - which is why he's always been a balance issue.

That said, Kayle is actually in a pretty reasonable spot right now. She can be played in any lane, in any role, with any items, to a decent level of success.

Kayle item 3124 item 3022 item 3071 item 1322 item 3742 item 3091 Don't knock it 'til you've tried it You shred off an obscene amount of resistances (45% armor, 15% plus 25 MR), making you a free old Last Whisper for your ADC, and you still do a bunch of damage. Plus her ultimate is flat utility that never gets old.

Morgana (Dark Binding)

I think her e and her ultimate are pretty key abilities too.

Definitely not her shield, it really doesn't do much except stop one hard cc, slows still apply I think. As well as that, it defends against magic damage, so pretty useless to take her bot lane where there's one or even two AD champions.

It stops slows and there are almost never two AD champions bot. Morgana support is very good, and Black Shield is a big part of that. Black Shield makes Morgana a big counter to hook supports and that's an amazing niche in bot lane.

Sona Q / Powerchord Q

I'm gonna stop you right there and call bullshit. Before the 4.13 gutting, Sona was an underplayed sub-par support. Since then, both Hymn and Power Chord have received nothing, but nerfs. I'd say combined these 2 spells alone have received around a dozen damage nerfs and she factually does barely more than half as much as she used to.

Let's not forget these facts:

  • Hymn of Valor is tied for the lowest base damage on a support spell
  • Sona's full damage potential is the 2nd-lowest of the entire support class
  • Hymn's secondary active is a melee-range ability
