Azir Soldier Quality of Life Buff

Could Azir have this translucent Sand circle around him whenever he has a Soldier out that shows how close he needs to be for them to be active (active as in will respond to your right clicks. Not destroying themselves.)? It's really annoying to try to attack someone with a solider only to realize that you stepped out of the active range and you're now walking toward your imminent doom.

I don't play Orianna but doesn't she have a circle around her that shows how far she can get from her ball before it poofs back? I think Azir would benefit from something like that.

Edit: Added a concept picture. I'm so good at Paint.

No objections here. I agree with this completely.

Seems silly it isn't there already, I agree. +1

excellent idea. So long as it doesn't notify enemy players that you have soldiers dropped.

The soldiers already do that.

The soldiers already do that.

Ya they stand at attention vs standing ready to strike but the speed of the animation is really slow. I've noticed that sometimes if you're just on the edge of the range they'll flip out because it's going from "being able to attack" to "not being able to attack" so quickly. At that point they just don't response or sometimes they do but it's really sporadic.

I agree, they should speed that animation up. Though, I'm a firm believer in any on map attack indicators should be global. To be frank I'm not a fan of them. I don't even like cross-hairs in first person shooters.

I was thinking more like when you drop them in a bush. I like to drop 2 in a bush and then walk out like nothing THEN send them in with my Q. If I have a giant ass circle around me people will know what's up.

Well I never said it would be visible to the enemy team. Most range indicators aren't.

Then it's perfect:)

This has been a major problem when I play Azir. I don't know when I'm within range to use my soldiers. This would help immensely.

Added a picture to show my idea. Maybe not THAT noticeable but something like that.

I think this initially how it worked but they removed due to screen clutter. Considering that we already have circles on the soldiers themselves for attack range, it could get confusing if you throw in even more circles.

I agree that it is currently too hard to see if soldiers go inactive. The current animation takes too much time and is not immediately obvious. Since more circles might not be the best answer, how about a soft pulsing red outline on soldiers that move out of range.

Oh...Azir. I forgot he was a champ...and I bought him, too. Has that "sleeper OP" been working out for you guys? Because me, nor my friends, see him around...ever.

Oh don't worry, he is. He just needs to, you know, have his spells actually working.... looking at you Ultimate.

Azir is actually pretty strong, he just needs his bugs fixed, the 30+ he got already weren't enough.

His spells still sometimes don't visually go on CD(really annoying with his ultimate), his ultimate sometimes doesn't work at all, E sometimes goes on CD but doesn't activate, etc...

He can kill people while they are in their spawning fountain, so yes he can be strong when played right. After a few completed items, he's a real pain.

Junkο1 votes

He can't kill people in their spawning fountain unless he is really really really ahead, though after 2 items he can kill most people under their own turret at relative ease with just multiple Ws and 1 Q then AAs

Yeah, Orianna has a ring that shows how far it has to be to return to you.

not a ring, an arrow.

And it changes color depending how far you re from it.

Raja Chachki1 votes

No, a ring. Lol if you shield a teammate the ball stays on them even after the shield dissipates, and if the teammate leaves the ring with the ball on them, then it pops back to Orianna. And you are not incorrect, if she just places the ball, then there is an arrow.

he could really use orianna-like arrows

Crowacious1 votes

How about instead of a ring, his "sand link" that he already has just becomes thinner when he's out of range?

Baval1 votes

or better yet just disappears since hes not even linked to them anymore, hence why they destroy themselves.

Could we also get a little target circle when summoning soldiers to show their attack range? And then do something about auto attacking mid summon animation then having to wait for you next auto for you soldier.

PickleBabah1 votes

Weird idea, the soldiers could have an icon as a buff for Azir, in the respective order, of course, and the icons could be color coded; green is within a normal vicinity, yellow is getting farther away, and red means that it will disappear soon.

This needs to be added in ASAP, there are SO many times where you can't tell whether you can or cannot harass and it's so freaking annoying

Dazaruk1 votes

I like it. It also helps know where your soldiers will go if you have to keep moving constantly. I hate it when I Q in a direction and my soldiers stop JUST short of attacking them.
