Does Lee Sin Need a Root?

Not a Lee SIn hater or anything. Serious question, not discussing ward hops or anything.

Should Lee Sin's ult root? Right now it just seems to be to enable "flashy" kick plays. Clearly without the root, you won't be able to get the perfect direction of your kick, but it seems like now it is just on the skill to add that flashy play.

Not really, no. IMO the knockback should start on cast, but the full animation should still have to happen before he can act again. That way the move as a whole is less stupid.

No lee sin is perfectly fine

He is probably the most balanced jungler in the sense that success with him is very much determined by games played. Lee's kit rewards dedication and intuitive awareness.

But how many other champions have an extra effect just to pull off a flashy move? You can probably have a list, but it just seems like it is just to support the "dream" play.

You can argue 50% WR is balanced. But then you have to ask if he is also forcing other jugglers out of the game. In which casever he wouldn't be balanced.

he doesn't really need that root but... I think there's a technical reason for it to be like that but it's kinda hard to explain... knockback skills seem to be coded as vectors, the trajectory that a missile travel is the direction you'll be knocked back in, that's why when you flash Vayne's condemn to a side you don't fly completely backwards but a little to the side

in Poppy's case she becomes the missile but in Lee sin's case... there's also a missile that travels from lee sin to the target in a straight line and that's why they always fly on one direction... the thing is that the missile isn't invisible :x the missile is his foot, if the enemy were to flash just as Lee sin is casting his ult, you would see his foot stretching like Zac's Q xD by keeping the target in place lee sin can complete his cast animation where his foot connects with the enemy without much hassle

Of course this limitation seems very trivial to keep his ult like that but so far it's the only logical explanation I can think of

A root would be fine. But it stuns you.

Yes, he needs it. Why? I dunno, ask rito balancing team as they refuse to lay hand on the untility in his kit. Sometimes you just have to believe in things, to accept them. I stopped complaining a long time ago.

Clearly seeing Peanut go 11-0 this split on Lee Sin, who "falls off" is imo a problem. I know SKT is just a good team, but watching him root then flash to get the kicks into his team was stupid.
