Keystone runes should be changed into items and summoner spells.

"Oh, you want to run Aery? Cool, it costs 2250 gold and takes up an item slot".

"Oh you want to run Dark Harvest? Cool, you'll be running that instead of ignite".

Some of those effects are pretty cool, but having a new avenue to empower champions just causes powercreep.

All this does is shift the powercreep over to the winning side and offers even fewer tools for possible comebacks.

The fuck kind of logic is that?

You'd be buying these keystones instead of another item.

A GP with 4000 gold on live could have grasp and Triforce.

After these changes, he'd have either a full Triforce or grasp and Half a Triforce.

Any way you look at it, this lowers the overall power level.

GP is pretty shit right now. Why not circlejerk complain about Electrocute and Conquerer?

The specific champion/rune isn't important.

You could swap that for any champion, their rune of choice, and their items.

Oh boy another “I want old runes and masteries back” post. What can I say except accept change and git gud?

Did you not read the post? I said nothing of the sort.

It's 4 sentences, including the title.

Removing the old runes was a good idea, since it lets Riot balance champions around their base stats and have it actually be felt. The change from the old mastery system (in which you allot your points freely among all trees) to this one (where you select one effect from each tier of your selected trees) is definitely a positive.

The addition of keystones was a mistake. The issue isn't that the effects are broken, it's that you aren't giving anything up to get those effects.

Cool that means that aery gets to actually deal massive damage? Or that dark harvest actually gets to be useful on more than a very few select champions?

Aery could be buffed a bit if it were locked behind an item, but it still wouldn't be a massive damage source.

Dark Harvest would probably be thrown onto Duskblade to replace its current passive, so they can stop nerfing Karthus.

Massive damage or nothing.

If anything, the shield component would be buffed.
