Dear Riot,
I know Udyr is in your list of necessary VUs, and I'm excited for that. All I ask as an Udyr main is that you don't rework him along with the VU. A lone VU with no gameplay changes would be much appreciated. Many people enjoy the play-style of Udyr as he currently is right now, and it's a very unique one too. Please do not take that away from us. Thank you.
Udyr needs a gameplay update almost as bad as he needs a visual update. His kit is boring and facerolly. I get that it has unique forms, but I feel like they could better utilize that mechanic in a manner similar to Kayn's 2 forms (same skills, mild variations in forms), so that you have flavorful playstlyes without the bizarre things he's got going on now.
No, Riot shouldnt do anything on him, Also not a VU just buy Spirit Guard like everyone else if you main him. [slayer-jinx-wink]
Udyr is a bad mix of Jax and Volibear.
He needs a rework but one that does not take away from the actual gameplay style he currently has. You're absolutely right on the VU part -- but not only should each of his forms look different but they also should have much more meaningful benefits/consequences for using them.
I'd almost like a pro/con for each form. For example being in turtle stance now not only gives you the 3 hit heal and active shield upon using the stance but also increases your armor/mr for the duration of the stance while reducing your damage/attack speed. Something that really makes deciding each stance worth it vs just using it for the original active then switching back to tiger.
What about a rework, only giving him 3 stances (because in game, you only use 3 stances, either tiger is left away, either phoenix is left away) and an actual ultimate. And stances actually doing something, not only being a melee-right-clicker-no-idea-what-Im-doing
I'd hope he doesn't get any major changes. I really love the fast hit and run playstyle. He's not mechanically intense in the aiming sense, but is in how you chain your abilities together, what pathing you take, etc. He's more of an RPG type of skill than the FPS kind.
No, he needs to get removed, destroyed and redone.
He needs a skill update. He hasn't been strongly viable since about Season 5, after they took away Zephyr and added a crap ton of wall jumpers to the game, nerfed his Q and W, Yet buffed the crap out of champs he used to counter (
)
I know he still pulls off pretty well situationally when fed early, but that's just it. If he's not, he's generally out of the game.
Oh. And there was that change to turrets that now prevents him from taking turrets without a minion wave, which used to be core to his play.
A Pure stat check champ not needing a rework 0_o

If one doesn't like a champion's playstyle perhaps that champion is not suited for him. There is no reason to rework every champion to a "modernised" champion. That takes away uniqueness. Let the mains of a champ keep what they enjoy, Udyr has a pretty large player base who enjoy his current playstyle.
There was a thread over on reddit a few months back where a guy pitched an Udyr rework. The only thing that changed was that if you changed stances quick enough you would be able to "combine" them. Might have also had a new passive but I don't remember for sure.
