Limit benefits of crit

I am of the mind that Critical strikes should have a maximum amount of damage they can do. There is a damage threshold that exists that strays into "burst" damage and crits should NEVER get anywhere near that. At the moment we have classes able to crit for 1000 damage which is retarded.

The so-called "burst classes" can hit for 1-2k damage only after they've used all, if not most, of their abilities. The classes that I feel are burst classes, are Mages, and Assassins. They specialize in dealing a ton of damage in a very short span of time by themselves. When you have a ADC capable of critting for 600-1000 damage per hit, that is way too much. They don't have to use any abilities for this and can do it repeatedly over a few seconds easily topping Mages and Assassins in damage, effectively making ADCs the true burst classes. ADCs have more or less rendered Mages and Assassins obsolete because their crit outputs are ludicrously high.

I think crit damage should be capped to maximum of 500 damage per hit and no higher. You say ADCs will not be able to kill something? Build more attack speed then. Attack speed is more expensive than straight damage thus by limiting the effect of crits it will also help curb the insane snowball rates of ADCs by making them reliant on things like attack speed to pull ahead.

ADCs have no business doing 600+ damage per hit since all they have to do is right click. the only classes that have any buisiness hitting that hard per hit are Mages and Assassins, both who have cooldowns and mana costs to contend with.

The whole point of ADCs is that if you let the game drag out long enough for them to get a full build AND no one on your team can assassinate them then they should win the game.

They are a timer that determines how long games can last because once they get full items, the game just 'ends' because of their dps.

PS: The only time your calculation would be an issue is if character has full build so it wouldn't even effect 90 pct of games (most games are ended by like 4 items)

Champions such as Quinn and Caitlyn can crit for those ludicrous numbers. The ADC shouldn't be the be-all-end-all; this is a TEAM game, so the end should come with the team working towards victory, not one guy getting enough items to 1-shot everything in existence. There is very little teamwork in that and thus should not be allowed to happen.

Seeing as to get those numbers the adcs have to build literal full glass cannon, there's still teamwork (keep assassins off your adc, get your assassins to the adc, catch anyone out, get any good engage/counter engage, etc.).

Also, your change would make anyone who uses critical strikes kinda useless late game (as opposed to actually being good late game). Currently, I can hit over 500 damage just with Riven + her passive. As literally any adc (take, say, Varus, who has no autoattack enhancers except his passive) I can hit over 500 at 3 items (IE + Bloodthirster + last Whisper), which means you've already gimped critical hitters at any point in the game past laning phase.

Given that ADC' have to wait for the 40-50 minute mark to hit that damage level, they have EVERY right to deal that level of damage. Limiting their damage effectively nerfs them into pointlessness because they will never out scale mages or assassins like they are supposed to.
