Tell me why Armor had to be gutted season 5 and nerfed harder in preseason

As if the broken items, masteries and champions wasnt enough to deal with, armor itemization is at its absolute worst right now. As well as there being too much %hp damage, true damage and heavy anti tank items, why even bother. You will get kited and melted in about 3 seconds anyways.
