Am I The Only One Saying This?

I apologize for caps lock in advance, but...

I'M SICK AND TIRED OF SEEING PEOPLE TAKING FROST QUEENS CLAIM WHEN THEY'RE MID!!!

Ok I'm done.

Now to be civil, can we put a requirement to bring exhaust to buy the support items? (besides sightstone) Much like the hunter's machete, you need smite in order to purchase it. So why can't we do the same with the support items? Or even require exhaust to purchase Frost Queen's Claim and the other final support items? Just make it so that we aren't hit with an auto-targeted 40% slow for 4 seconds.

Anyone else annoyed by FQC and think it needs something to nerf it but nothing on its numbers?

Making the support items less ideal for a mid laner to pick? Sure, that's ok.

Making you have to have exhaust to get them? No. Plenty of supports take something other than exhaust, and making the items bound to them just screws over the entire support class

Honest question, in what situations would be better take ignite/teleport over exhaust as a support?

ModWulf Helhammer1 votes

Some supports that have enough CC like to take ignite to up the kill pressure. If you want to go a kill lane, you're usually not going to exhaust

That is true, I can't disagree with that

Maybe have an effect where if an allied champion is within 1000 or so range of you its a 4 second slow if not its a 1 or 2 second slow instead?

Yeah, i dont know how to nerf FQC without making it completely worthless for supports just so that mid laners stop taking it. I'm pretty sure it's the slow and vision for why people are taking it. I don't have any other ideas for reasonable nerfs, but your idea sounds pretty good, its a start. Looking at the downvotes on this thread, I can tell people don't want to have a discussion about it.

I'd rather they disable your ability to proc the stacks after you kill a minion. It wouldn't matter much for supports, but it would severely reduce mages gold generation since they have to CS.

I wouldn't want Exhaust to be required before:

  • Mid laners can take Exhaust (and often do in some matchups)
  • Supports can take Heal or Ignite

Yeah, I've already been told that (with the multiple summoner spell choices in matchups) and you guys seem to be doing a better job coming up with ideas than me, my only idea was out of spite and annoyance.

FQC gives the mid lane mage VISION.

The ghost go track down the nearest enemy and allows you to see where they are and if you should push or freeze your lane. I will take it every time!

isnt that what wards are for?

NoPaxt1 votes

Yes, but frost queen claim gives vision beyond your normal warding zone. They travel through jungle paths and look around corners. Not easy for a mid lane mage to deep ward. It also provides a slow for engages and disengages.

If you look at yesterdays NA game Immortals vs Counter Logic, they ran two FQC and it is part of the reason they won. Again, the utility is far too good to ignore!

This trend is a nightmare for Shaco

I still don't see why it's okay for support items to become Midlane items but it's some unholy sacrilege for an actual Support to become a Midlaner.

Just League Things, i guess
