I'm thinking about maining support because it seems cool to get your adc fed or as big of a lead on the opponents' adc as possible. I prefer supports that can still have a relatively big impact on the game. Right now I have morgana, and i was looking at zyra and I wanted to know if she is good in low elo or if i should just keep playing morgana until i climb a little bit, or maybe even get a different suppport champion. Any responses are appreciated.
My Sea Cow3 votesI love Zyra support...her and Lux are definitely really good for low elo IMO...but I do think that you need to play around your team and play tanky if a tank is needed. Nautilus and Leona were my first go to tank supports that can be very good for low elo

GoochFlap1 votesyeah i was thinking about getting naut and playing him top because he has a lot of cc and that is useful even if you're behind. Although I do like high damage mage supports more, because it's basically a second mid laner, so you can have extra damage.

Zyra support in low ELO is absolutely devastating. Her E snare is incredibly powerful when paired with her Q nuke and her W seeds. Even when going against a tanky team Zyra can get a huge early lead. However, she has a few serious drawbacks that require you to be very skilled with technical mechanics. The cool thing about Zyra is that you can build her as a support (Frost Queen's Claim and Sightstone) then build full AP and lose literally nothing since she comprises a large part of a teams damage.

In short, if you're good with technical, bursty AP mages (like Syndra, Orianna, and Lissandra) then definitely pick her up.

Vel'Koz seems up your ally. High damage, very forgiving, and pretty fun to play. His passive is also great for laying on the damage thick and early, and his double stacked W can wreck early lanes. Morgana is great, but can become kind of predictable and token over time (especially in high ELOs). Don't forget the 'classics' like Lux and Karma. You can even try Syndra support if you'd like.

She wrecks low-elo, because most ADCs have no concept of positioning, and Zyra can punish this severely in lanes with her high damage output.
Just be wary, that you'll be carrying most matches personally because your plants and inherent high damage results in a lot of stolen kills. When you play Zyra support in many instances you become the second midlaner for your team. It's wonderful if you've always wanted to play a mage, but hated midlane CSing.

Hmm, some sort of middle ground between Zyra and Morgana in terms of skill ceilings?
Annie is an alternative. She's actually harder to master than you would think, mostly in terms of positioning due to her low mobiliy. She, like Teemo, can be picked up quickly and used effectively in low elo, but to be effective in high elo requires a knowledge of correctly positioning comparable only to someone who's mastered a champ like Zyra as well. Think of her like Zyra, but without the complex skillshot/seed planting mechanics. Immobile and highly damaging.
You've also got Brand, whose mechanics are a step down from Zyra due to his ultimate being point-and-click, and self-guiding, his AOE W having a larger radius, and his E being point-and-click. His purpose is also fairly singular : damage output. Whereas Zyra's is a combination of CC, zoning during teamfights with her ultimate, and sustain DPS with strategically placed plants.

GoochFlap1 votesYeah, that's true. I love blocking blitz hooks with the spellshield. By the looks of it, i might just stick to morgana because she is useful even when behind because of her ult, similiar to kennen.
Privileged Jew2 votesBoth of the champs I mentioned above would prepare you for Zyra in that both are immobile and serve similar purposes, with similar playstyles. Lockdown and/or burst damage coupled with immobility, requiring good positioning.
