The only Disaster about Yasuo is...

Why doesn't he have mana? Let's look at his kit, i have no problem with anything he does but why doesn't he have mana? in 2011 xypherous said that riven being manaless is ok because "her gameplay requires a lot of positioning, cooldown and stack management" but what yasuo has to manage? literally nothing but spam E and Q every second in laning phase, doesn't manage cooldown, nor positioning.

http://images.memes.com/meme/674487

then xypherous said that riven has to fight to win the lane, which means that it's high risk high reward. Again how is this possible with Yasuo? he dash--> Q ---> dash back and shield a part of your damage, throw tornado from miles away every 8 seconds without forgetting the windwall screwing one of your projectiles every 24 seconds (like ahri's Q) forcing you to waste even more ressources.

https://www.reddit.com/r/leagueoflegends/comments/159wjq/some_interesting_thoughts_by_xypherous_and_nome/

he did a full list of everything possible in league, managing mana, energy, health, fury,cooldown.. WHY ISN'T YASUO BELONGING TO ONE OF THEM? he doesn't have ressources, but he also doesn't have cooldown, like... what?

Yeah, a Silver III Illaoi main sure would know a lot about a champion requiring skill.

Nop, nothing about what i said is wrong in the laning phase.

You've clearly never played Yasuo in your entire life. Go ahead: go into a game and just spam E and Q nonstop with no regard for cooldowns or positioning. You'll be 0/5 before 10 minutes playing like that.

TyroneWatermelon1 votes

Yasuo one of the most positioning forgiving champions, with his dashes, shield and windwall.

It must be so liberating to not need any sort of actual logic or facts to justify your position. Let me guess, you've never played Yasuo either, just like everyone else who'd spewed that idiotic opinion?

^ And his Q requires stacking His ultimate also requires good positioning, not just for you, but also for your enemies. Diving in on every chance to ult will get you killed

And yes, I did go back and read your whole post because you weren't a crybaby about my response. So props for that.

so how is Q stacking an escuse for him not having mana? he doesn't have to manage them, he just have to press Q 2 times to get an other tornado. he doesn't have to think like "should i keep this or not" it isn't managing. Riven managing her passive is her being able to use every stacks before using an other ability, else she will lose damage. If she chooses to cast a spell while having 3 stacks she is going to lose damage.

and his ultimate doesn't need a good positioning either, he just needs to knock up someone.

I'm betting you don't play Yasuo, or at least you probably don't play him well.

Yasuo has to be able to hit an enemy with his Q in order to gain a stack. Riven just has to use an ability in order to get a stack of her passive. She doesn't even have to hit anyone. Yasuo's first two stacks don't do anything additional for him until he uses his third Q. Riven gets bonus damage on her next auto attack after every stack. If Yasuo misses his second stack on Q he will most likely lose his previous stacks. Riven may lose stacks, but all she has to do is use another ability. If Yasuo uses his third stack on Q and misses, he not only has to wait to be able to attempt to stack again, but he loses his ability to trigger his ultimate on his own.

Are you the kind of person who ults enemies under tower, or ults an enemy on the backline when the rest of their team will just collapse on you?

still not making him managing something, what can he possibly loses if he decides to Q?

for real? his Q stacks lasts 10 seconds, it's writen in the tooltip, this alone makes me wonder if you play yasuo.

what you're explaining to me, is what will happens if yasuo fails a skillshot, but this isn't a ressource management, you're listing me drawbacks of yasuo's Q, but what i want is yasuo thinking twice before using a spell.

{quoted} Are you the kind of person who ults enemies under tower, or ults an enemy on the backline when the rest of their team will just collapse on you?

Yasuo's ult has cooldown his W has cooldown his E has 6 second cooldown at max rank for same target.
Q is nothing but an AA with negligible extra damage(100 at max rank). even then it starts at 4 second cooldown. And is a short range skillshot, easy to dodge if you good at kiting etc. he cant throw another tornado for roughly 4 seconds at max Q cdr.

so, wtf u smoking m8?

Yasuo has to build AS to bring it down, like other champions who has to build CDR items to lower their cooldowns. CDR items are not just CDR items either, they have good damage on them too. So, other champs build CDR+damage, Yasuo build AS/Crit for it. I dont see much difference...

That's Riven's passive,

But that's just built into Yasuo's Q, his passive gives him double crit chance and a passive shield.

Right, ... I wasn't saying they were both passive or abilities. They are both parts of their respective kits that require stacking and management.

The fact that they one is a passive and one is an ability makes zero difference in this.

As for Yasuo's shield. Riven also has a shield that gets ridiculously strong with AD. It is also able to be cast at a time that is most convenient for Riven, where as Yasuo's shield has to be passively charged and gets popped if he takes damage, like it or not.

His ultimate doesn't require any positioning. It's a free targeted blink. You don't even have to always aim it because allies can help or you can E+Q for a targeted Q.

I was more referring to the position of your enemies when you ult them. A better word would probably be timing. I've seen Yasuo noobs take every single ultimate regarless of where the enemy is and get slaughtered 90% of the time as result.

Sona x Rubick5 votes

i've been bringing this since he was released, riot said that manaless champions manage cooldowns, but then phreak said in the champion spotlight that yasuo has no mana and no cooldown, the moment i heard it i knew it was a problem.

and i continue to bring this today.

Um his E is useful for positioning derp.

Targon4 votes

I think that Yasuo should have mana or at least some resource. When Yasuo misses his tornado or Q it is usually much more forgiving for him than when Yasuo can negate 100+ mana worth of skill shot damage from his passive and wind wall.

what circlejerk are you talking about? i'm just pointing out an incoherence in riot's design values.

  • his q is basically a fancy auto attack. it doesnt cost mana or has a long cooldown, but it doesnt do anything actually significant other than to give that attack 475 range. considering only his third q gets the knockup, the overall cooldown of that part is much longer than the cooldown of the ability itself.

  • his e has a decent cooldown against the same enemy unit, and he needs to manage that. he also cant use his mobility tool nearly as freely as riven can use hers. he has to target an enemy unit and it always takes him a fixed distance. as opposed to riven whos actually a lot more mobile than yasuo since she can use her mobility at any time in any direction.

  • windwall has a decent cooldown.

  • his ult cooldown is not very long, but the ult itself is conditional and needs a specific setup. it cant be used at any time like most ults in the game.

look at it like this. yasuo is a melee adc and entirely reliant on using his mobility and q like a marksman uses his auto attack range to carry. putting mana costs into yasuos kit would be the same as gating ranged auto attacks by mana. as soon as hed run out (which would happen really fast unless you make the manacosts entirely insignificant), hed basically be a sitting duck.

a marksman who runs out of mana might not have access to some abilities but would still be able to deal damage from safe distance by orbwalking and auto attacking, while yasuo would not be able to do anything.

he needs to be able to constantly reposition with his e to dodge abilities while being in melee, like a marksman is able to position in a safe spot and auto attack from a distance to deal damage.

his manaless q and mobility alone are barely enough to close the power gap between marksmens ranged auto attacks and him. that doesnt even give him his own strength from a unique kit yet.

thats why he has such a powerful utility tool in his windwall, and such a strong passive which is essentially his attack steroid.

id say except from the dependency on knockups, his ult isnt even anything special design wise. its just a generic damage ability.

yasuo can only dash if there are minions and has to dash to and past the minions. He can't even use his Q for long windows between the waves if he is pushing and if he doesn't push they will end up under his tower.

Let me basically summarize this in one good way:

[zombie-brand-facepalm]

The point is Yasuo is a resource'less champ with a 'bonus resource' to be his free shield where it can basically last indefinitely till he's damaged and can easily get built right back up by just running all over the place and as someone else pointed out: "A Champion with no Resources AND no cool downs."

Unless a champion has small window opportunties on their utilities to force the idea of either you dive in and take a risk or you could back out and wait for a better opportunity to do so or ways to 'punish' them in proper ways that stick out like sore thumbs and aren't being protected by those same overpowered utilities whenever a opportunity arises, then its basically the same of a champion having no 'technical' weaknesses outside of 'GENERAL level problems which applies to all champions, Yasuo isn't and shouldnt even be getting special treatment where he only has brain dead players or world championship players with insane reaction speeds and might as well be predicting the future at how they use him.

Plus once again, he not only has a overloaded utility set with things everywhere, he pulls the same jerk build gag as Ezreal, namely rush two items and snowball you to death the after you get those items and especially if your a solo'que player, then your likely won't have the champion, masteries or runes or sometimes the time to prepare the right items to counter him and not ruin your ability to continue to play your role effectively.

Hell lets go over a fun'fact on his Q, Steel Tempest. -It has a 4 second cool down period. -You can build attack speed (which shiv covers the first taste o that usually). -The ratio is .6% CD per 1% bonus attack speed up to a cap of 66% reduction. Meaning he can spam it every 1.36 seconds at the max ratio. -Based on that ratio, 100% bonus attack speed would get him the 60% mark so he only needs +110% bonus attack speed to work it. -Staikk Shiv gives 35% attack speed and so does Berserker's Greaves, two norm items normally placed on Yasuo so he already has 70% of that bonus attack speed for 42% reduction, meaning he already turned the Q into a 2.32 spam rate. -Hell if i recall, he can still get CDR on top of that too, so if say Yasuo has the full 110% bonus attack speed plus 40% cool down then 60% of 1.36 seconds is .816 seconds. Which is a basic translation that he can spam stab you all the time like it was URF mode and constantly keep tornados on you unless they put 'anti' stun chain spams for one or more enemy groups with some kind of punishment setup that can screw over enemies that spam CC stacking and not allow it to become a regular police escort for a convict (aka a 'captured palyer) and its impossible to go and 'get them back' without some serious feed or objectives to back them up enough.

Point is that Yasuo can easily get cool down insanely early on the cheapest of items and let him spam pressure with tornados that might as well be touching 3 to 3.5 seconds during the laning phase even before the first non boots item is complete. He ultimately needs a redesign to make him favorable to not only face, but also to go up against.

Plus unless they already patch it, i believe i remember a certain someone pointing out how Yasuo had some 'abusive bugs' like when he uses his ultimate on a knocked up target under their turret, Yasuo would instead be flying in the air right outside of the turret range, still be doing the motions and the damage to boot. If that gag still exists then it just adds more coal to the fire on Yasuo needs a lynching even more so then Teemo who may screw a enemy team over with his own utiltiy, but at least its still stuck on a mana stock and have to 'forage for more shrooms' to lay down, otherwise he is not viable without his mushrooms to back him up in late game sort of setups.

Yasuo doesn't require the same stat managements as Riven?

  1. Stacking Q 3x for a knock-up, a prerequisite for even using his ult.
  2. He can't use his ult without a knock up.
  3. Has to dash effectively to be disruptive and mobile, not mindlessly spamming it in directions.
  4. Can jump over walls with a dash, if you know how to

Instead of CD, he has to manage his crit and damage. Otherwise, same as Riven.
