Why Shouldn't I Rush Tear on Mid-Lane Mages?

LeBoosted··1 votes·1,035 views

I've developed a habit in league, where for an example I rush tear on azir to eliminate mana problems. Doing this allows me to harass my lane opponent more, not have to keep track of my mana, and allow me to be much more impactful early game. However, despite all these amazing boons, I see no pro players building this (to my knowledge.) Why should I rush Stinger instead of tear? Thanks! ^.^

Try playing a few games without Tear and see how your mana holds up.

Usually item 3010 or item 3802 are better options for mana anyway.

You shouldnt be spamming all your skills off cd, you use them when you can guarantee a hit by watching your opponents patterns, or hitting them when they go in for a cs etc

Tear gives you nothing special as passive, its just some stat boosts which aren't cost effective.

Tear's for champions which use a lot of spells and have mana problems.

Azir is neither of these.

is harassing your job?

a lot of times what happens is you get more mana at the cost of power, grievous wounds, cdr, and other things.

Its not necessarily wrong but its probably not the most efficient option

It depends on the champ. Someone like Azir doesn't need the amount of mana tear has to offer and would be better suited building something that gave CDR or AS. Some one like anivia on the other hand burns through mana like water.

azir isn't a champ you build tear on..

They don't build it because they know how to manage their mana. They don't spam their spells constantly as soon as they're off cooldown. They pick and choose the right times for when they want to do stuff.

If you want to harass people, you would want to build more damage so your spells hit harder. A tear is for champions who mostly want to sit back and farm (Karthus, Anivia, Ezreal)
