I was actually confused when Windwall blocked Sona's ult

I always thought it was a beam like Azir or Vel'Koz's autos, I had no clue it actually counted until it got blocked. I understand that riot wants to make things more consistent, but there are things like Thresh's autos which aren't blocked but look identical to his hook ability, and things like Sona's ult, which connects to her like these non projectile auto attacks but look like Xerath Qs or other non projectiles.

Thresh autos aren't typical ranged attacks. It's a melee attack in the sense that he's whipping you with a chain.

They're considered ranged attacks because you don't get the damage bonus on minions from Relic Shield.

Hence I said 'typical ranged attacks'. The latter was rationalizing why it goes through Wind Wall.

Holy crap, really? Ouch. So can you flay to get the bonus? What a nerf that is.

They aren't projectiles. Champions like Azir and Vel'Koz can auto-attack through his windwall too.

the descrepency between thresh autos and sonas ult are in no way similar at all

sonas ult is a literal source of power it doe not connect to her

while threshs auto is a part of him

A projectile, unlike his AAs.

Which makes no sense

Sona's ult is a projectile, you can see the difference between its beginning and end. It's not instant like Xerath Q. In other say, there is a slight difference when you're in max range of ult and min range of ult. But with Xerath Q, it doesn't matter you're near or far, if it's going to hit you, it will do it with same time, not even 0.00000000001 second difference.

because they're projectiles. They aren't coded in a different planes.

I've had this happen before. And what really sucks is that the Yasuo didn't even have to come close to actually blocking it to delete it. He used his windwall in response to my Crescendo and it hit the back half of the spell closest to me, and even though visually the crescendo had made contact with his team the late windwall still deleted the whole thing.

Oh, there are all KINDS of things that don't seem like projectiles. Lulu's Whimsy, half of Maokai's Sapling Toss, and so on.

I mean, I've been saying for a very long time now that it's a projectile. I'm more amazed by that people are surprised to learn Rito has a deep-seated hatred of her. It's painfully obvious.
