Should Qiyana max E first?

It seems a bit weird, but her E is her only spell whose cooldown goes down with rank.

Her Q only goes up by 20 damage per rank, and the bonus effects don't get any better with rank. Her E gets 35 damage per rank. Even with the Earth Q's damage bonus, that's not as much damage as the extra damage you're getting from a rank in E.

Her W only increases the on-hit damage by 8 and the ooc movement speed by 1.25% per rank, but ranking it up increases its mana cost. As a crucial part of her combos and with Qiyana's harsh mana problems early on, you want this ability as cheap as possible. Her E also increases in mana cost, but its cooldown is also longer and she doesn't use it on-cooldown.

I'm gonna start maxing E first to see how it feels.

Q gets applied multiple times in a fight though since using W resets it

Alright, so each rank in Q is adding 40 damage to your combo, instead of each rank in E adding 35 damage plus ~8% CDR in the ability per rank. Each individual combo does 5 less damage, but her combo is up more often. You get more opportunities to engage, which I feel is very much worth the 5 less damage.

That's assuming you land both Qs. It's a tricky two-part skillshot that will definitely take some practice. Her E cannot miss. It's guaranteed damage that is only 5 damage less per rank invested and 25 mana less than the double Q (50 mana less if you count the mana spent to reset with the W).

I think it's still valid to max E first, and definitely max it second if you're maxing Q.

Ok.

I think it's likely going to be matchup dependent.
