Irelia Passive vs Shields: Bad idea?

And by this, I mean removing it. One of the grand, great design choices of her rework, one of the great reasons why she was picked for a full VGU instead of various other champions that could use it, was her shield-breaker passive. It was the answer to so many shields prevalent in the game, in (what I believe to be) a healthier means than just flat-out ignoring them (hello Pyke, Urgot). There's no doubt the champion needed nerfs, but I don't agree with her passive's triple-damage vs shields being smashed down. Hit her W's ridiculous base damage + uninterruptible damage reduction, keep on with those Q and ult nerfs. Going back on Irelia's shield-breaker seems wrong. The gimmick on a VGU that should be removed is Akali's perfect stealth.

I'm pretty sure it was only added because it was during the time when enchanters and other shields were OP, ardent/locket meta and such, and everyone was crying for an anti-shield option so they gave it to her. Now, not only are enchanters not a problem anymore, but we have a better designed anti-shield ability (Aatrox). I'm glad to see that part of her kit go.

I'm more disappointed they decided to remove her disarm from her ult. That was a unique part of her kit and encouraged a lot of interactivity. Do I stay and try to fight Irelia in melee range? Or do I get out of there and pacify myself for a moment while running to safety? The choice was different for every class, and always a difficult choice. Now it's just a matter of whether you want to take damage and get a massive slow or not. Basically a ranged Thresh ult that doesn't go away after one person crosses it.
