Anyone else noticing the OTHER Mobility Creep?

I'm not talking about Champions. I'm talking about Items. For about a year now, the Movement Speed stat, which was usually specifically tied to Boots and a few other cases, has slowly made it's way onto more and more items.

Look at some of the changes to the item pool over a couple of seasons.

Phage - The first item I feel that started this trend (REALLY old change though). Chance of Slow on autos replaced with Bonus MS on autos.

**Righteous Glory **- Basically a stronger but more specific form of Talisman of Ascension. Popular item.

**Zz'Rot Portal **- Movement speed around Towers.

**Aether Wisp **- Addition of this guy created the first true "Movement Speed sub-item" and brought new items that would have the stat.

Ardent Censer - Builds out a Aether Wisp, wasn't used that much though.

Luden's Echo - This thing is a solid item, and made Movement Speed an easy to come-by stat on a lot of Mages due to how many champs can abuse it.

The Black Cleaver - Build path changed and a new effect added which made it so doing physical damage gave a burst of Movement Speed.

Dead Man's Plate - Brand new Tank item that gives ramping Movement speed.

Honestly I love Movement Speed. It's a fun stat to have an it becomes really noticeable when you're literally running circles around the enemy. I just hope it doesn't become TOO readily available.

I like this list, but if you played back before the movespeed nerf on items, you'd know that these are really tame versions of it. Phantom Dancer in it's old iteration gave 12% movespeed, was stackable, and a second one wasn't uncommon. Trinity force used to give 12% and the slow proc made it freaking hard to escape and so easy to kite. A lot of the movespeed items come with 5-10% now and boots got nerfed quite a while ago, so it's not as bad in items as it is in the hyperloaded champs with infinite mobility or crazy high steriod movespeed boosts.

And then there is yi with his Ult, ghost, and ghostblade. You can't run! You can't hide!

He was worse before, used to be able to reach 600-700 movespeed with just his ult and a phantom dancer.

True. But then there is Furor enchantment on boots or frozen mallet which still give him insane sticking power.

But frozen mallet is pretty bad on yi due to it's severe lack of damage, furor is pretty much manditory on yi though. In all honesty it's yi that's the problem and not the items themselves. his ult shouldn't give him that kind of movespeed and immunity to slows and attack speed AND an extention when he gets kills. it's that his ult is far too overloaded and gives him too much power when he puts it up especially if you know when to time your shit so you can just get the kat cleanup scenario.

True. Although hard cc or stealth seems to work quite well vs him. Idk the mpvespeed just gives him alot of kill potential especially once he is fed.

There you go now you're seeing where the real problem lies, giving a champ +10% movespeed isn't the issue, it's the hypermobile kits that force building a lot of extra movespeed that are.

I think they're trying to compensate for low mobility champions. Without dead man's plate, Garen will never reach anything.

On the other hand, isn't he supposed to be a juggernaut who's dangerous if nearby, but it's hard for him to get close?
