Why does Vayne even have the three hit passive if she just one-shots you late game?

Clearly a joke in the title, but seriously, she still hits so hard by grabbing two items that cost about 6000 gold (together) when she is supposed to be a hyper carry.

Her three hit passive is pretty much not even used against anyone outside of tanks or tanky bruisers come late game. Even then, she can still do okay damage to them without it.

It's more like the opposite. Why vayne, a dps champion, can burst so hard with Q?

The problem is that her Q is now her main ability, not her W. Which is wrong. Her Q is for burst, she doesn't need it to be strong. Her W is for dps, she needs it to be strong.

Her Q power should be given to her W. She'll be weaker early, but stronger late game. She won't be able to 100-0 squishy's anymore,. She will be able to tank shred.

People wont buy item 3031 item 3046 item 3087 But will buy item 3153 item 3124 . item 3091 (?)

To your first paragraph: I would argue that's how a hyper-carry is SUPPOSED to work. At one item, they're not much of a threat. (Vayne with Shiv hurts, but is still mostly ticklish.) At two, they're getting some momentum built up and should be a high priority. (Shiv + IE gets her damage off the ground, especially with that +CritDamage passive.) At three, they're dangerous and should be the primary target for Assassins and Divers. (She'll be roughly 80% crit at this point and very VERY dangerous. Auto-Q is going to obliterate squishies.) At four, you need to end the game in a COUPLE minutes, as in <5. (She's got her BT. You're in trouble.) At five, you made a major mistake dragging this game out. (If you don't have enough secondary burst to take out her second instance of GA, you're doomed.)

To your second paragraph: Last I knew, Vayne's Silver Bolts is MEANT as a tank-buster. It's not meant to deal damage to squishies (judging by the fact they removed any flat damage from it and she's probably going to 2-shot them anyway), it's meant to take out tanks with 3k+ HP. However, she doesn't win short-term fights with tanks typically since her abyssal defensive stats will get her combo'd down.

Title isn't really a joke. I was playing a custom 3v4 with some friends last night and enemy Vayne killed me in 2 hits. She just ulted and attack me when invisible. 0 counterplay to that

Excellent point. We should move her away from 3 hit passives and focus on burst. How about replace W with 10/20/30/40/50% crit chance so you only need shiv+inf edge?

Sorry, can't help but think of Riot changing Vayne to a burst oriented adc under the logic of "People were complaining about Vayne reaching her late game fantasy at 2 items and two shotting people. Rather than force her into a role she doesn't fit we have decided to solidify her identity as a burst champion."

I mean, do you know what a hyper carry is? They're not supposed to be useless until they magically come online with 5-6 items. I'll even compare with Spectre on DotA2:

At 2 items they generally start to hit a stride (Spectre with Radiance and Vanguard; Vayne with Shiv and IE) and can accelerate their development, at 3 they pick up more steam (Spectre picked up Manta Style; Vayne now has Phantom Dancer), at 4 they're only getting harder to stop (Spectre now has an Eye of Skadi; Vayne has Bloodthirster) and you need to end the game already, at 5 they're hitting critical mass and if you can't get them dead quickly each fight you might just lose the game off them alone (Vayne now has GA and is harder to kill; Spectre sold her Vanguard and Radiance and bought Satanic and has an Aegis with a Refresher Orb in her backpack).

To be fair, Spectre can get even worse by chomping on a Moon Shard after she's fully slotted.

The problem you're running into isn't that a hyper-carry is scaling well with those items, but that she's has very strong sustained damage dealer with any sort of burst on top of that. And when it gets to the late-game, given how her itemization works, I'm not surprised at all that the passive is mostly used for tanks. When the squishies you're running into will have maybe 110-130 armor (if GA) and about 1800-2200 HP, then yeah, they're going to die incredibly quickly without much use of the 3-hit passive. You're playing rocket tag with actual rockets, especially in Jinx's case.

As you said, it doesn't really matter though. She can still one shot you without it.
